17) সূরা বনী ইসরাঈল - Surah Israel (মক্কায় অবতীর্ণ - Ayah 111)

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু।
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي أَسْرَىٰ بِعَبْدِهِ لَيْلًا مِّنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْأَقْصَى الَّذِي بَارَكْنَا حَوْلَهُ لِنُرِيَهُ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ	1
পরম পবিত্র ও মহিমাময় সত্তা তিনি, যিনি স্বীয় বান্দাকে রাত্রি বেলায় ভ্রমণ করিয়েছিলেন মসজিদে হারাম থেকে মসজিদে আকসা পর্যান্ত-যার চার দিকে আমি পর্যাপ্ত বরকত দান করেছি যাতে আমি তাঁকে কুদরতের কিছু নিদর্শন দেখিয়ে দেই। নিশ্চয়ই তিনি পরম শ্রবণকারী ও দর্শনশীল।
Glory to ((Allah)) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless,- in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things).
وَآتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ وَجَعَلْنَاهُ هُدًى لِّبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَلَّا تَتَّخِذُوا مِن دُونِي وَكِيلًا	2
আমি মূসাকে কিতাব দিয়েছি এবং সেটিকে বনী-ইসরাঈলের জন্যে হেদায়েতে পরিণত করেছি যে, তোমরা আমাকে ছাড়া কাউকে কার্যনিবাহী স্থির করো না।
We gave Moses the Book, and made it a Guide to the Children of Israel, (commanding): "Take not other than Me as Disposer of (your) affairs."
ذُرِّيَّةَ مَنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَبْدًا شَكُورًا	3
তোমরা তাদের সন্তান, যাদেরকে আমি নূহের সাথে সওয়ার করিয়েছিলাম। নিশ্চয় সে ছিল কৃতজ্ঞ বান্দা।
O ye that are sprung from those whom We carried (in the Ark) with Noah! Verily he was a devotee most grateful.
وَقَضَيْنَا إِلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فِي الْكِتَابِ لَتُفْسِدُنَّ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلَتَعْلُنَّ عُلُوًّا كَبِيرًا	4
আমি বনী ইসরাঈলকে কিতাবে পরিষ্কার বলে দিয়েছি যে, তোমরা পৃথিবীর বুকে দুবার অনর্থ সৃষ্টি করবে এবং অত্যন্ত বড় ধরনের অবাধ্যতায় লিপ্ত হবে।
And We gave (Clear) Warning to the Children of Israel in the Book, that twice would they do mischief on the earth and be elated with mighty arrogance (and twice would they be punished)!
فَإِذَا جَاءَ وَعْدُ أُولَاهُمَا بَعَثْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ عِبَادًا لَّنَا أُولِي بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ فَجَاسُوا خِلَالَ الدِّيَارِ ۚ وَكَانَ وَعْدًا مَّفْعُولًا	5
অতঃপর যখন প্রতিশ্রুতি সেই প্রথম সময়টি এল, তখন আমি তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে প্রেরণ করলাম আমার কঠোর যোদ্ধা বান্দাদেরকে। অতঃপর তারা প্রতিটি জনপদের আনাচে-কানাচে পর্যন্ত ছড়িয়ে পড়ল। এ ওয়াদা পূর্ণ হওয়ারই ছিল।
When the first of the warnings came to pass, We sent against you Our servants given to terrible warfare: They entered the very inmost parts of your homes; and it was a warning (completely) fulfilled.
ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَا لَكُمُ الْكَرَّةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَمْدَدْنَاكُم بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ أَكْثَرَ نَفِيرًا	6
অতঃপর আমি তোমাদের জন্যে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে পালা ঘুয়িয়ে দিলাম, তোমাদেরকে ধন-সম্পদ ও পুত্রসন্তান দ্বারা সাহায্য করলাম এবং তোমাদেরকে জনসংখ্যার দিক দিয়ে একটা বিরাট বাহিনীতে পরিণত করলাম।
Then did We grant you the Return as against them: We gave you increase in resources and sons, and made you the more numerous in man-power.
إِنْ أَحْسَنتُمْ أَحْسَنتُمْ لِأَنفُسِكُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ أَسَأْتُمْ فَلَهَا ۚ فَإِذَا جَاءَ وَعْدُ الْآخِرَةِ لِيَسُوءُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ وَلِيَدْخُلُوا الْمَسْجِدَ كَمَا دَخَلُوهُ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَلِيُتَبِّرُوا مَا عَلَوْا تَتْبِيرًا	7
তোমরা যদি ভাল কর, তবে নিজেদেরই ভাল করবে এবং যদি মন্দ কর তবে তাও নিজেদের জন্যেই। এরপর যখন দ্বিতীয় সে সময়টি এল, তখন অন্য বান্দাদেরকে প্রেরণ করলাম, যাতে তোমাদের মুখমন্ডল বিকৃত করে দেয়, আর মসজিদে ঢুকে পড়ে যেমন প্রথমবার ঢুকেছিল এবং যেখানেই জয়ী হয়, সেখানেই পুরোপুরি ধ্বংসযজ্ঞ চালায়।
If ye did well, ye did well for yourselves; if ye did evil, (ye did it) against yourselves. So when the second of the warnings came to pass, (We permitted your enemies) to disfigure your faces, and to enter your Temple as they had entered it before, and to visit with destruction all that fell into their power.
عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يَرْحَمَكُمْ ۚ وَإِنْ عُدتُّمْ عُدْنَا ۘ وَجَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكَافِرِينَ حَصِيرًا	8
হয়ত তোমাদের পালনকর্তা তোমাদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করবেন। কিন্তু যদি পুনরায় তদ্রূপ কর, আমিও পুনরায় তাই করব। আমি জাহান্নামকে কাফেরদের জন্যে কয়েদখানা করেছি।
It may be that your Lord may (yet) show Mercy unto you; but if ye revert (to your sins), We shall revert (to Our punishments): And we have made Hell a prison for those who reject (all Faith).
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا الْقُرْآنَ يَهْدِي لِلَّتِي هِيَ أَقْوَمُ وَيُبَشِّرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا كَبِيرًا	9
এই কোরআন এমন পথ প্রদর্শন করে, যা সর্বাধিক সরল এবং সৎকর্ম পরায়ণ মুমিনদেরকে সুসংবাদ দেয় যে, তাদের জন্যে মহা পুরস্কার রয়েছে।
Verily this Qur'an doth guide to that which is most right (or stable), and giveth the Glad Tidings to the Believers who work deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a magnificent reward;
وَأَنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ أَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا	10
এবং যারা পরকালে বিশ্বাস করে না, আমি তাদের জন্যে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি প্রস্তুত করেছি।
And to those who believe not in the Hereafter, (it announceth) that We have prepared for them a Penalty Grievous (indeed).
وَيَدْعُ الْإِنسَانُ بِالشَّرِّ دُعَاءَهُ بِالْخَيْرِ ۖ وَكَانَ الْإِنسَانُ عَجُولًا	11
মানুষ যেভাবে কল্যাণ কামনা করে, সেভাবেই অকল্যাণ কামনা করে। মানুষ তো খুবই দ্রুততা প্রিয়।
The prayer that man should make for good, he maketh for evil; for man is given to hasty (deeds).
وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ آيَتَيْنِ ۖ فَمَحَوْنَا آيَةَ اللَّيْلِ وَجَعَلْنَا آيَةَ النَّهَارِ مُبْصِرَةً لِّتَبْتَغُوا فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَلِتَعْلَمُوا عَدَدَ السِّنِينَ وَالْحِسَابَ ۚ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَصَّلْنَاهُ تَفْصِيلًا	12
আমি রাত্রি ও দিনকে দুটি নিদর্শন করেছি। অতঃপর নিস্প্রভ করে দিয়েছি রাতের নিদর্শন এবং দিনের নিদর্শনকে দেখার উপযোগী করেছি, যাতে তোমরা তোমাদের পালনকর্তার অনুগ্রহ অন্বেষণ কর এবং যাতে তোমরা স্থির করতে পার বছরসমূহের গণনা ও হিসাব এবং আমি সব বিষয়কে বিস্তারিত ভাবে বর্ণনা করেছি।
We have made the Night and the Day as two (of Our) Signs: the Sign of the Night have We obscured, while the Sign of the Day We have made to enlighten you; that ye may seek bounty from your Lord, and that ye may know the number and count of the years: all things have We explained in detail.
وَكُلَّ إِنسَانٍ أَلْزَمْنَاهُ طَائِرَهُ فِي عُنُقِهِ ۖ وَنُخْرِجُ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كِتَابًا يَلْقَاهُ مَنشُورًا	13
আমি প্রত্যেক মানুষের কর্মকে তার গ্রীবলগ্ন করে রেখেছি। কেয়ামতের দিন বের করে দেখাব তাকে একটি কিতাব, যা সে খোলা অবস্থায় পাবে।
Every man's fate We have fastened on his own neck: On the Day of Judgment We shall bring out for him a scroll, which he will see spread open.
اقْرَأْ كِتَابَكَ كَفَىٰ بِنَفْسِكَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكَ حَسِيبًا	14
পাঠ কর তুমি তোমার কিতাব। আজ তোমার হিসাব গ্রহণের জন্যে তুমিই যথেষ্ট।
(It will be said to him:) "Read thine (own) record: Sufficient is thy soul this day to make out an account against thee."
مَّنِ اهْتَدَىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِي لِنَفْسِهِ ۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا ۚ وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ ۗ وَمَا كُنَّا مُعَذِّبِينَ حَتَّىٰ نَبْعَثَ رَسُولًا	15
যে কেউ সৎপথে চলে, তারা নিজের মঙ্গলের জন্যেই সৎ পথে চলে। আর যে পথভ্রষ্ট হয়, তারা নিজের অমঙ্গলের জন্যেই পথ ভ্রষ্ট হয়। কেউ অপরের বোঝা বহন করবে না। কোন রাসূল না পাঠানো পর্যন্ত আমি কাউকেই শাস্তি দান করি না।
Who receiveth guidance, receiveth it for his own benefit: who goeth astray doth so to his own loss: No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another: nor would We visit with Our Wrath until We had sent an apostle (to give warning).
وَإِذَا أَرَدْنَا أَن نُّهْلِكَ قَرْيَةً أَمَرْنَا مُتْرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُوا فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا الْقَوْلُ فَدَمَّرْنَاهَا تَدْمِيرًا	16
যখন আমি কোন জনপদকে ধ্বংস করার ইচ্ছা করি তখন তার অবস্থাপন্ন লোকদেরকে উদ্ধুদ্ধ করি অতঃপর তারা পাপাচারে মেতে উঠে। তখন সে জনগোষ্টীর উপর আদেশ অবধারিত হয়ে যায়। অতঃপর আমি তাকে উঠিয়ে আছাড় দেই।
When We decide to destroy a population, We (first) send a definite order to those among them who are given the good things of this life and yet transgress; so that the word is proved true against them: then (it is) We destroy them utterly.
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مِن بَعْدِ نُوحٍ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ بِذُنُوبِ عِبَادِهِ خَبِيرًا بَصِيرًا	17
নূহের পর আমি অনেক উম্মতকে ধ্বংস করেছি। আপনার পালনকর্তাই বান্দাদের পাপাচারের সংবাদ জানা ও দেখার জন্যে যথেষ্ট।
How many generations have We destroyed after Noah? and enough is thy Lord to note and see the sins of His servants.
مَّن كَانَ يُرِيدُ الْعَاجِلَةَ عَجَّلْنَا لَهُ فِيهَا مَا نَشَاءُ لِمَن نُّرِيدُ ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا لَهُ جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَاهَا مَذْمُومًا مَّدْحُورًا	18
যে কেউ ইহকাল কামনা করে, আমি সেসব লোককে যা ইচ্ছা সত্ত্বর দিয়ে দেই। অতঃপর তাদের জন্যে জাহান্নাম নির্ধারণ করি। ওরা তাতে নিন্দিত-বিতাড়িত অবস্থায় প্রবেশ করবে।
If any do wish for the transitory things (of this life), We readily grant them - such things as We will, to such person as We will: in the end have We provided Hell for them: they will burn therein, disgraced and rejected.
وَمَنْ أَرَادَ الْآخِرَةَ وَسَعَىٰ لَهَا سَعْيَهَا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ كَانَ سَعْيُهُم مَّشْكُورًا	19
আর যারা পরকাল কামনা করে এবং মুমিন অবস্থায় তার জন্য যথাযথ চেষ্টা-সাধনা করে, এমন লোকদের চেষ্টা স্বীকৃত হয়ে থাকে।
Those who do wish for the (things of) the Hereafter, and strive therefor with all due striving, and have Faith,- they are the ones whose striving is acceptable (to Allah..
كُلًّا نُّمِدُّ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ وَهَـٰؤُلَاءِ مِنْ عَطَاءِ رَبِّكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ عَطَاءُ رَبِّكَ مَحْظُورًا	20
এদেরকে এবং ওদেরকে প্রত্যেককে আমি আপনার পালনকর্তার দান পৌছে দেই এবং আপনার পালকর্তার দান অবধারিত।
Of the bounties of thy Lord We bestow freely on all- These as well as those: The bounties of thy Lord are not closed (to anyone).
انظُرْ كَيْفَ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ وَلَلْآخِرَةُ أَكْبَرُ دَرَجَاتٍ وَأَكْبَرُ تَفْضِيلًا	21
দেখুন, আমি তাদের একদলকে অপরের উপর কিভাবে শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দান করলাম। পরকাল তো নিশ্চয়ই মর্তবায় শ্রেষ্ঠ এবং ফযীলতে শ্রেষ্ঠতম।
See how We have bestowed more on some than on others; but verily the Hereafter is more in rank and gradation and more in excellence.
لَّا تَجْعَلْ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا آخَرَ فَتَقْعُدَ مَذْمُومًا مَّخْذُولًا	22
স্থির করো না আল্লাহর সাথে অন্য কোন উপাস্য। তাহলে তুমি নিন্দিত ও অসহায় হয়ে পড়বে।
Take not with Allah another object of worship; or thou (O man!) wilt sit in disgrace and destitution.
وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا إِيَّاهُ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا ۚ إِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِندَكَ الْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَا أَوْ كِلَاهُمَا فَلَا تَقُل لَّهُمَا أُفٍّ وَلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوْلًا كَرِيمًا	23
তোমার পালনকর্তা আদেশ করেছেন যে, তাঁকে ছাড়া অন্য কারও এবাদত করো না এবং পিতা-মাতার সাথে সদ্ব-ব্যবহার কর। তাদের মধ্যে কেউ অথবা উভয়েই যদি তোমার জীবদ্দশায় বার্ধক্যে উপনীত হয়; তবে তাদেরকে 'উহ' শব্দটিও বলো না এবং তাদেরকে ধমক দিও না এবং বল তাদেরকে শিষ্ঠাচারপূর্ণ কথা।
Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour.
وَاخْفِضْ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ الذُّلِّ مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ وَقُل رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا	24
তাদের সামনে ভালবাসার সাথে, নম্রভাবে মাথা নত করে দাও এবং বলঃ হে পালনকর্তা, তাদের উভয়ের প্রতি রহম কর, যেমন তারা আমাকে শৈশবকালে লালন-পালন করেছেন।
And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: "My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood."
رَّبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِي نُفُوسِكُمْ ۚ إِن تَكُونُوا صَالِحِينَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ لِلْأَوَّابِينَ غَفُورًا	25
তোমাদের পালনকর্তা তোমাদের মনে যা আছে তা ভালই জানেন। যদি তোমরা সৎ হও, তবে তিনি তওবাকারীদের জন্যে ক্ষমাশীল।
Your Lord knoweth best what is in your hearts: If ye do deeds of righteousness, verily He is Most Forgiving to those who turn to Him again and again (in true penitence).
وَآتِ ذَا الْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُ وَالْمِسْكِينَ وَابْنَ السَّبِيلِ وَلَا تُبَذِّرْ تَبْذِيرًا	26
আত্নীয়-স্বজনকে তার হক দান কর এবং অভাবগ্রস্ত ও মুসাফিরকেও। এবং কিছুতেই অপব্যয় করো না।
And render to the kindred their due rights, as (also) to those in want, and to the wayfarer: But squander not (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift.
إِنَّ الْمُبَذِّرِينَ كَانُوا إِخْوَانَ الشَّيَاطِينِ ۖ وَكَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ لِرَبِّهِ كَفُورًا	27
নিশ্চয় অপব্যয়কারীরা শয়তানের ভাই। শয়তান স্বীয় পালনকর্তার প্রতি অতিশয় অকৃতজ্ঞ।
Verily spendthrifts are brothers of the Evil Ones; and the Evil One is to his Lord (himself) ungrateful.
وَإِمَّا تُعْرِضَنَّ عَنْهُمُ ابْتِغَاءَ رَحْمَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكَ تَرْجُوهَا فَقُل لَّهُمْ قَوْلًا مَّيْسُورًا	28
এবং তোমার পালনকর্তার করুণার প্রত্যাশায় অপেক্ষামান থাকাকালে যদি কোন সময় তাদেরকে বিমুখ করতে হয়, তখন তাদের সাথে নম্রভাবে কথা বল।
And even if thou hast to turn away from them in pursuit of the Mercy from thy Lord which thou dost expect, yet speak to them a word of easy kindness.
وَلَا تَجْعَلْ يَدَكَ مَغْلُولَةً إِلَىٰ عُنُقِكَ وَلَا تَبْسُطْهَا كُلَّ الْبَسْطِ فَتَقْعُدَ مَلُومًا مَّحْسُورًا	29
তুমি একেবারে ব্যয়-কুষ্ঠ হয়োনা এবং একেবারে মুক্ত হস্তও হয়ো না। তাহলে তুমি তিরস্কৃতি, নিঃস্ব হয়ে বসে থাকবে।
Make not thy hand tied (like a niggard's) to thy neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach, so that thou become blameworthy and destitute.
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِ خَبِيرًا بَصِيرًا	30
নিশ্চয় তোমার পালকর্তা যাকে ইচ্ছা অধিক জীবনোপকরণ দান করেন এবং তিনিই তা সংকুচিতও করে দেন। তিনিই তাঁর বান্দাদের সম্পর্কে ভালোভাবে অবহিত,-সব কিছু দেখছেন।
Verily thy Lord doth provide sustenance in abundance for whom He pleaseth, and He provideth in a just measure. For He doth know and regard all His servants.
وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا أَوْلَادَكُمْ خَشْيَةَ إِمْلَاقٍ ۖ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُهُمْ وَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ قَتْلَهُمْ كَانَ خِطْئًا كَبِيرًا	31
দারিদ্রের ভয়ে তোমাদের সন্তানদেরকে হত্যা করো না। তাদেরকে এবং তোমাদেরকে আমিই জীবনোপকরণ দিয়ে থাকি। নিশ্চয় তাদেরকে হত্যা করা মারাত্নক অপরাধ।
Kill not your children for fear of want: We shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily the killing of them is a great sin.
وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا الزِّنَىٰ ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَاحِشَةً وَسَاءَ سَبِيلًا	32
আর ব্যভিচারের কাছেও যেয়ো না। নিশ্চয় এটা অশ্লীল কাজ এবং মন্দ পথ।
Nor come nigh to adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road (to other evils).
وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ ۗ وَمَن قُتِلَ مَظْلُومًا فَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا لِوَلِيِّهِ سُلْطَانًا فَلَا يُسْرِف فِّي الْقَتْلِ ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ مَنصُورًا	33
সে প্রাণকে হত্যা করো না, যাকে আল্লাহ হারাম করেছেন; কিন্তু ন্যায়ভাবে। যে ব্যক্তি অন্যায়ভাবে নিহত হয়, আমি তার উত্তরাধিকারীকে ক্ষমতা দান করি। অতএব, সে যেন হত্যার ব্যাপারে সীমা লঙ্ঘন না করে। নিশ্চয় সে সাহায্যপ্রাপ্ত।
Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him nor exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law).
وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا مَالَ الْيَتِيمِ إِلَّا بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ أَشُدَّهُ ۚ وَأَوْفُوا بِالْعَهْدِ ۖ إِنَّ الْعَهْدَ كَانَ مَسْئُولًا	34
আর, এতিমের মালের কাছেও যেয়ো না, একমাত্র তার কল্যাণ আকাংখা ছাড়া; সংশ্লিষ্ট ব্যক্তির যৌবনে পদার্পন করা পর্যন্ত এবং অঙ্গীকার পূর্ন কর। নিশ্চয় অঙ্গীকার সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হবে।
Come not nigh to the orphan's property except to improve it, until he attains the age of full strength; and fulfil (every) engagement, for (every) engagement will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).
وَأَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ إِذَا كِلْتُمْ وَزِنُوا بِالْقِسْطَاسِ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَحْسَنُ تَأْوِيلًا	35
মেপে দেয়ার সময় পূর্ণ মাপে দেবে এবং সঠিক দাঁড়িপালায় ওজন করবে। এটা উত্তম; এর পরিণাম শুভ।
Give full measure when ye measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight: that is the most fitting and the most advantageous in the final determination.
وَلَا تَقْفُ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۚ إِنَّ السَّمْعَ وَالْبَصَرَ وَالْفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُولَـٰئِكَ كَانَ عَنْهُ مَسْئُولًا	36
যে বিষয়ে তোমার কোন জ্ঞান নেই, তার পিছনে পড়ো না। নিশ্চয় কান, চক্ষু ও অন্তঃকরণ এদের প্রত্যেকটিই জিজ্ঞাসিত হবে।
And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).
وَلَا تَمْشِ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَحًا ۖ إِنَّكَ لَن تَخْرِقَ الْأَرْضَ وَلَن تَبْلُغَ الْجِبَالَ طُولًا	37
পৃথিবীতে দম্ভভরে পদচারণা করো না। নিশ্চয় তুমি তো ভূ পৃষ্ঠকে কখনই বিদীর্ণ করতে পারবে না এবং উচ্চতায় তুমি কখনই পর্বত প্রমাণ হতে পারবে না।
Nor walk on the earth with insolence: for thou canst not rend the earth asunder, nor reach the mountains in height.
كُلُّ ذَٰلِكَ كَانَ سَيِّئُهُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ مَكْرُوهًا	38
এ সবের মধ্যে যেগুলো মন্দকাজ, সেগুলো তোমার পালনকর্তার কাছে অপছন্দনীয়।
Of all such things the evil is hateful in the sight of thy Lord.
ذَٰلِكَ مِمَّا أَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْكَ رَبُّكَ مِنَ الْحِكْمَةِ ۗ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا آخَرَ فَتُلْقَىٰ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مَلُومًا مَّدْحُورًا	39
এটা ঐ হিকমতের অন্তর্ভূক্ত, যা আপনার পালনকর্তা আপনাকে ওহী মারফত দান করেছেন। আল্লাহর সাথে অন্য কোন উপাস্য স্থির করবেন না। তাহলে অভিযুক্ত ও আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ থেকে বিতাড়িত অবস্থায় জাহান্নামে নিক্ষিপ্ত হবেন।
These are among the (precepts of) wisdom, which thy Lord has revealed to thee. Take not, with Allah, another object of worship, lest thou shouldst be thrown into Hell, blameworthy and rejected.
أَفَأَصْفَاكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِالْبَنِينَ وَاتَّخَذَ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنَاثًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَقُولُونَ قَوْلًا عَظِيمًا	40
তোমাদের পালনকর্তা কি তোমাদের জন্যে পুত্র সন্তান নির্ধারিত করেছেন এবং নিজের জন্যে ফেরেশতাদেরকে কন্যারূপে গ্রহণ করেছেন? নিশ্চয় তোমরা গুরুতর গর্হিত কথাবার্তা বলছ।
Has then your Lord (O Pagans!) preferred for you sons, and taken for Himself daughters among the angels? Truly ye utter a most dreadful saying!
وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَا فِي هَـٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ لِيَذَّكَّرُوا وَمَا يَزِيدُهُمْ إِلَّا نُفُورًا	41
আমি এই কোরআনে নানাভাবে বুঝিয়েছি, যাতে তারা চিন্তা করে। অথচ এতে তাদের কেবল বিমুখতাই বৃদ্ধি পায়।
We have explained (things) in various (ways) in this Qur'an, in order that they may receive admonition, but it only increases their flight (from the Truth)!
قُل لَّوْ كَانَ مَعَهُ آلِهَةٌ كَمَا يَقُولُونَ إِذًا لَّابْتَغَوْا إِلَىٰ ذِي الْعَرْشِ سَبِيلًا	42
বলুনঃ তাদের কথামত যদি তাঁর সাথে অন্যান্য উপাস্য থাকত; তবে তারা আরশের মালিক পর্যন্ত পৌছার পথ অন্বেষন করত।
Say: If there had been (other) gods with Him, as they say,- behold, they would certainly have sought out a way to the Lord of the Throne!
سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يَقُولُونَ عُلُوًّا كَبِيرًا	43
তিনি নেহায়েত পবিত্র ও মহিমান্বিত এবং তারা যা বলে থাকে তা থেকে বহু উর্ধ্বে।
Glory to Him! He is high above all that they say!- Exalted and Great (beyond measure)!
تُسَبِّحُ لَهُ السَّمَاوَاتُ السَّبْعُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلَّا يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا تَفْقَهُونَ تَسْبِيحَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّهُ كَانَ حَلِيمًا غَفُورًا	44
সপ্ত আকাশ ও পৃথিবী এবং এগুলোর মধ্যে যাকিছু আছে সমস্ত কিছু তাঁরই পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষণা করে। এবং এমন কিছু নেই যা তার সপ্রশংস পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষনা করে না। কিন্তু তাদের পবিত্রতা, মহিমা ঘোষণা তোমরা অনুধাবন করতে পার না। নিশ্চয় তিনি অতি সহনশীল, ক্ষমাপরায়ণ।
The seven heavens and the earth, and all beings therein, declare His glory: there is not a thing but celebrates His praise; And yet ye understand not how they declare His glory! Verily He is Oft-Forbear, Most Forgiving!
وَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ الْقُرْآنَ جَعَلْنَا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ حِجَابًا مَّسْتُورًا	45
যখন আপনি কোরআন পাঠ করেন, তখন আমি আপনার মধ্যে ও পরকালে অবিশ্বাসীদের মধ্যে প্রচ্ছন্ন পর্দা ফেলে দেই।
When thou dost recite the Qur'an, We put, between thee and those who believe not in the Hereafter, a veil invisible:
وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا ۚ وَإِذَا ذَكَرْتَ رَبَّكَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ وَحْدَهُ وَلَّوْا عَلَىٰ أَدْبَارِهِمْ نُفُورًا	46
আমি তাদের অন্তরের উপর আবরণ রেখে দেই, যাতে তারা একে উপলব্ধি করতে না পারে এবং তাদের কর্ণকুহরে বোঝা চাপিয়ে দেই। যখন আপনি কোরআনে পালনকর্তার একত্ব আবৃত্তি করেন, তখন ও অনীহাবশতঃ ওরা পৃষ্ট প্রদর্শন করে চলে যায়।
And We put coverings over their hearts (and minds) lest they should understand the Qur'an, and deafness into their ears: when thou dost commemorate thy Lord and Him alone in the Qur'an, they turn on their backs, fleeing (from the Truth).
نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَسْتَمِعُونَ بِهِ إِذْ يَسْتَمِعُونَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِذْ هُمْ نَجْوَىٰ إِذْ يَقُولُ الظَّالِمُونَ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا رَجُلًا مَّسْحُورًا	47
যখন তারা কান পেতে আপনার কথা শোনে, তখন তারা কেন কান পেতে তা শোনে, তা আমি ভাল জানি এবং এও জানি গোপনে আলোচনাকালে যখন জালেমরা বলে, তোমরা তো এক যাদুগ্রস্থ ব্যক্তির অনুসরণ করছ।
We know best why it is they listen, when they listen to thee; and when they meet in private conference, behold, the wicked say, "Ye follow none other than a man bewitched!"
انظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا لَكَ الْأَمْثَالَ فَضَلُّوا فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلًا	48
দেখুন, ওরা আপনার জন্যে কেমন উপমা দেয়। ওরা পথভ্রষ্ট হয়েছে। অতএব, ওরা পথ পেতে পারে না।
See what similes they strike for thee: but they have gone astray, and never can they find a way.
وَقَالُوا أَإِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا وَرُفَاتًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ خَلْقًا جَدِيدًا	49
তারা বলেঃ যখন আমরা অস্থিতে পরিণত ও চূর্ণ বিচূর্ণ হয়ে যাব, তখনও কি নতুন করে সৃজিত হয়ে উত্থিত হব?
They say: "What! when we are reduced to bones and dust, should we really be raised up (to be) a new creation?"
قُلْ كُونُوا حِجَارَةً أَوْ حَدِيدًا	50
বলুনঃ তোমরা পাথর হয়ে যাও কিংবা লোহা।
Say: "(Nay!) be ye stones or iron,
أَوْ خَلْقًا مِّمَّا يَكْبُرُ فِي صُدُورِكُمْ ۚ فَسَيَقُولُونَ مَن يُعِيدُنَا ۖ قُلِ الَّذِي فَطَرَكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ ۚ فَسَيُنْغِضُونَ إِلَيْكَ رُءُوسَهُمْ وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هُوَ ۖ قُلْ عَسَىٰ أَن يَكُونَ قَرِيبًا	51
অথবা এমন কোন বস্তু, যা তোমাদের ধারণায় খুবই কঠিন; তথাপি তারা বলবেঃ আমাদের কে পুর্নবার কে সৃষ্টি করবে। বলুনঃ যিনি তোমাদেরকে প্রথমবার সৃজন করেছেন। অতঃপর তারা আপনার সামনে মাথা নাড়বে এবং বলবেঃ এটা কবে হবে? বলুনঃ হবে, সম্ভবতঃ শ্রীঘ্রই।
"Or created matter which, in your minds, is hardest (to be raised up),- (Yet shall ye be raised up)!" then will they say: "Who will cause us to return?" Say: "He who created you first!" Then will they wag their heads towards thee, and say, "When will that be?" Say, "May be it will be quite soon!
يَوْمَ يَدْعُوكُمْ فَتَسْتَجِيبُونَ بِحَمْدِهِ وَتَظُنُّونَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا	52
যেদিন তিনি তোমাদেরকে আহবান করবেন, অতঃপর তোমরা তাঁর প্রশংসা করতে করতে চলে আসবে। এবং তোমরা অনুমান করবে যে, সামান্য সময়ই অবস্থান করেছিলে।
"It will be on a Day when He will call you, and ye will answer (His call) with (words of) His praise, and ye will think that ye tarried but a little while!"
وَقُل لِّعِبَادِي يَقُولُوا الَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَنزَغُ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ كَانَ لِلْإِنسَانِ عَدُوًّا مُّبِينًا	53
আমার বান্দাদেরকে বলে দিন, তারা যেন যা উত্তম এমন কথাই বলে। শয়তান তাদের মধ্যে সংঘর্ষ বাধায়। নিশ্চয় শয়তান মানুষের প্রকাশ্য শত্রু।
Say to My servants that they should (only) say those things that are best: for Satan doth sow dissensions among them: For Satan is to man an avowed enemy.
رَّبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ ۖ إِن يَشَأْ يَرْحَمْكُمْ أَوْ إِن يَشَأْ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ ۚ وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكِيلًا	54
তোমাদের পালনকর্তা তোমাদের সম্পর্কে ভালভাবে জ্ঞাত আছেন। তিনি যদি চান, তোমাদের প্রতি রহমত করবেন কিংবা যদি চান, তোমাদের আযাব দিবেন। আমি আপনাকে ওদের সবার তত্ত্বাবধায়ক রূপে প্রেরণ করিনি।
It is your Lord that knoweth you best: If He please, He granteth you mercy, or if He please, punishment: We have not sent thee to be a disposer of their affairs for them.
وَرَبُّكَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۗ وَلَقَدْ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَ النَّبِيِّينَ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۖ وَآتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ زَبُورًا	55
আপনার পালনকর্তা তাদের সম্পর্কে ভালভাবে জ্ঞাত আছেন, যারা আকাশসমূহে ও ভুপৃষ্ঠে রয়েছে। আমি তো কতক পয়গম্বরকে কতক পয়গম্বরের উপর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দান করেছি এবং দাউদকে যবুর দান করেছি।
And it is your Lord that knoweth best all beings that are in the heavens and on earth: We did bestow on some prophets more (and other) gifts than on others: and We gave to David (the gift of) the Psalms.
قُلِ ادْعُوا الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُم مِّن دُونِهِ فَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ كَشْفَ الضُّرِّ عَنكُمْ وَلَا تَحْوِيلًا	56
বলুনঃ আল্লাহ ব্যতীত যাদেরকে তোমরা উপাস্য মনে কর, তাদেরকে আহবান কর। অথচ ওরা তো তোমাদের কষ্ট দুর করার ক্ষমতা রাখে না এবং তা পরিবর্তনও করতে পারে না।
Say: "Call on those - besides Him - whom ye fancy: they have neither the power to remove your troubles from you nor to change them."
أُولَـٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ يَبْتَغُونَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمُ الْوَسِيلَةَ أَيُّهُمْ أَقْرَبُ وَيَرْجُونَ رَحْمَتَهُ وَيَخَافُونَ عَذَابَهُ ۚ إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ كَانَ مَحْذُورًا	57
যাদেরকে তারা আহবান করে, তারা নিজেরাই তো তাদের পালনকর্তার নৈকট্য লাভের জন্য মধ্যস্থ তালাশ করে যে, তাদের মধ্যে কে নৈকট্যশীল। তারা তাঁর রহমতের আশা করে এবং তাঁর শাস্তিকে ভয় করে। নিশ্চয় আপনার পালনকর্তার শাস্তি ভয়াবহ।
Those whom they call upon do desire (for themselves) means of access to their Lord, - even those who are nearest: they hope for His Mercy and fear His Wrath: for the Wrath of thy Lord is something to take heed of.
وَإِن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا نَحْنُ مُهْلِكُوهَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُوهَا عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا ۚ كَانَ ذَٰلِكَ فِي الْكِتَابِ مَسْطُورًا	58
এমন কোন জনপদ নেই, যাকে আমি কেয়ামত দিবসের পূর্বে ধ্বংস করব না অথবা যাকে কঠোর শাস্তি দেব না। এটা তো গ্রন্থে লিপিবদ্ধ হয়ে গেছে।
There is not a population but We shall destroy it before the Day of Judgment or punish it with a dreadful Penalty: that is written in the (eternal) Record.
وَمَا مَنَعَنَا أَن نُّرْسِلَ بِالْآيَاتِ إِلَّا أَن كَذَّبَ بِهَا الْأَوَّلُونَ ۚ وَآتَيْنَا ثَمُودَ النَّاقَةَ مُبْصِرَةً فَظَلَمُوا بِهَا ۚ وَمَا نُرْسِلُ بِالْآيَاتِ إِلَّا تَخْوِيفًا	59
পূর্ববর্তীগণ কতৃêক নিদর্শন অস্বীকার করার ফলেই আমাকে নিদর্শনাবলী প্রেরণ থেকে বিরত থাকতে হয়েছে। আমি তাদেরকে বোঝাবার জন্যে সামুদকে উষ্ট্রী দিয়েছিলাম। অতঃপর তারা তার প্রতি জুলুম করেছিল। আমি ভীতি প্রদর্শনের উদ্দেশেই নিদর্শন প্রেরণ করি।
And We refrain from sending the signs, only because the men of former generations treated them as false: We sent the she-camel to the Thamud to open their eyes, but they treated her wrongfully: We only send the Signs by way of terror (and warning from evil).
وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لَكَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ أَحَاطَ بِالنَّاسِ ۚ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَالشَّجَرَةَ الْمَلْعُونَةَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ ۚ وَنُخَوِّفُهُمْ فَمَا يَزِيدُهُمْ إِلَّا طُغْيَانًا كَبِيرًا	60
এবং স্মরণ করুন, আমি আপনাকে বলে দিয়েছিলাম যে, আপনার পালনকর্তা মানুষকে পরিবেষ্টন করে রেখেছেন এবং যে দৃশ্য আমি আপনাকে দেখিয়েছি তাও কোরআনে উল্লেখিত অভিশপ্ত বৃক্ষ কেবল মানুষের পরীক্ষার জন্যে। আমি তাদেরকে ভয় প্রদর্শন করি। কিন্তু এতে তাদের অবাধ্যতাই আরও বৃদ্ধি পায়।
Behold! We told thee that thy Lord doth encompass mankind round about: We granted the vision which We showed thee, but as a trial for men,- as also the Cursed Tree (mentioned) in the Qur'an: We put terror (and warning) into them, but it only increases their inordinate transgression!
وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ قَالَ أَأَسْجُدُ لِمَنْ خَلَقْتَ طِينًا	61
স্মরণ কর, যখন আমি ফেরেশতাদেরকে বললামঃ আদমকে সেজদা কর, তখন ইবলীস ব্যতীত সবাই সেজদায় পড়ে গেল। কিন্তু সে বললঃ আমি কি এমন ব্যক্তিকে সেজদা করব, যাকে আপনি মাটির দ্বারা সৃষ্টি করেছেন?
Behold! We said to the angels: "Bow down unto Adam": They bowed down except Iblis: He said, "Shall I bow down to one whom Thou didst create from clay?"
قَالَ أَرَأَيْتَكَ هَـٰذَا الَّذِي كَرَّمْتَ عَلَيَّ لَئِنْ أَخَّرْتَنِ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَأَحْتَنِكَنَّ ذُرِّيَّتَهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا	62
সে বললঃ দেখুন তো, এনা সে ব্যক্তি, যাকে আপনি আমার চাইতেও উচ্চ মার্যাদা দিয়ে দিয়েছেন। যদি আপনি আমাকে কেয়ামত দিবস পর্যন্ত সময় দেন, তবে আমি সামান্য সংখ্যক ছাড়া তার বংশধরদেরকে সমূলে নষ্ট করে দেব।
He said: "Seest Thou? this is the one whom Thou hast honoured above me! If Thou wilt but respite me to the Day of Judgment, I will surely bring his descendants under my sway - all but a few!"
قَالَ اذْهَبْ فَمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ جَزَاؤُكُمْ جَزَاءً مَّوْفُورًا	63
আল্লাহ বলেনঃ চলে যা, অতঃপর তাদের মধ্য থেকে যে তোর অনুগামী হবে, জাহান্নামই হবে তাদের সবার শাস্তি-ভরপুর শাস্তি।
((Allah)) said: "Go thy way; if any of them follow thee, verily Hell will be the recompense of you (all)- an ample recompense.
وَاسْتَفْزِزْ مَنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ مِنْهُم بِصَوْتِكَ وَأَجْلِبْ عَلَيْهِم بِخَيْلِكَ وَرَجِلِكَ وَشَارِكْهُمْ فِي الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَوْلَادِ وَعِدْهُمْ ۚ وَمَا يَعِدُهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ إِلَّا غُرُورًا	64
তুই সত্যচ্যুত করে তাদের মধ্য থেকে যাকে পারিস স্বীয় আওয়ায দ্বারা, স্বীয় অশ্বারোহী ও পদাতিক বাহিনী নিয়ে তাদেরকে আক্রমণ কর, তাদের অর্থ-সম্পদ ও সন্তান-সন্ততিতে শরীক হয়ে যা এবং তাদেরকে প্রতিশ্রুতি দে। ছলনা ছাড়া শয়তান তাদেরকে কোন প্রতিশ্রুতি দেয় না।
"Lead to destruction those whom thou canst among them, with thy (seductive) voice; make assaults on them with thy cavalry and thy infantry; mutually share with them wealth and children; and make promises to them." But Satan promises them nothing but deceit.
إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَانٌ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ وَكِيلًا	65
আমার বান্দাদের উপর তোর কোন ক্ষমতা নেই আপনার পালনকর্তা যথেষ্ট কার্যনির্বাহী।
"As for My servants, no authority shalt thou have over them:" Enough is thy Lord for a Disposer of affairs.
رَّبُّكُمُ الَّذِي يُزْجِي لَكُمُ الْفُلْكَ فِي الْبَحْرِ لِتَبْتَغُوا مِن فَضْلِهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيمًا	66
তোমাদের পালনকর্তা তিনিই, যিনি তোমাদের জন্যে সমুদ্রে জলযান চালনা করেন, যাতে তোমরা তার অনুগ্রহ অন্বেষন করতে পারো। নিঃ সন্দেহে তিনি তোমাদের প্রতি পরম দয়ালূ।
Your Lord is He That maketh the Ship go smoothly for you through the sea, in order that ye may seek of his Bounty. For he is unto you most Merciful.
وَإِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فِي الْبَحْرِ ضَلَّ مَن تَدْعُونَ إِلَّا إِيَّاهُ ۖ فَلَمَّا نَجَّاكُمْ إِلَى الْبَرِّ أَعْرَضْتُمْ ۚ وَكَانَ الْإِنسَانُ كَفُورًا	67
যখন সমুদ্রে তোমাদের উপর বিপদ আসে, তখন শুধু আল্লাহ ব্যতীত যাদেরকে তোমরা আহবান করে থাক তাদেরকে তোমরা বিস্মৃত হয়ে যাও। অতঃপর তিনি যখন তোমাদেরকে স্থলে ভিড়িয়ে উদ্ধার করে নেন, তখন তোমরা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নাও। মানুষ বড়ই অকৃতজ্ঞ।
When distress seizes you at sea, those that ye call upon - besides Himself - leave you in the lurch! but when He brings you back safe to land, ye turn away (from Him). Most ungrateful is man!
أَفَأَمِنتُمْ أَن يَخْسِفَ بِكُمْ جَانِبَ الْبَرِّ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُوا لَكُمْ وَكِيلًا	68
তোমরা কি এ বিষয়ে নিশ্চিন্ত রয়েছ যে, তিনি তোমাদেরকে স্থলভাগে কোথাও ভূগর্ভস্থ করবেন না। অথবা তোমাদের উপর প্রস্তর বর্ষণকারী ঘুর্ণিঝড় প্রেরণ করবেন না, তখন তোমরা নিজেদের জন্যে কোন কর্মবিধায়ক পাবে না।
Do ye then feel secure that He will not cause you to be swallowed up beneath the earth when ye are on land, or that He will not send against you a violent tornado (with showers of stones) so that ye shall find no one to carry out your affairs for you?
أَمْ أَمِنتُمْ أَن يُعِيدَكُمْ فِيهِ تَارَةً أُخْرَىٰ فَيُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ قَاصِفًا مِّنَ الرِّيحِ فَيُغْرِقَكُم بِمَا كَفَرْتُمْ ۙ ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُوا لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا بِهِ تَبِيعًا	69
অথবা তোমরা কি এ বিষয়ে নিশ্চিন্ত যে, তিনি তোমাদেরকে আরেকবার সমুদ্রে নিয়ে যাবেন না, অতঃপর তোমাদের জন্যে মহা ঝটিকা প্রেরণ করবেন না, অতঃপর অকৃতজ্ঞতার শাস্তিস্বরূপ তোমাদেরকে নিমজ্জত করবেন না, তখন তোমরা আমার বিরুদ্ধে এ বিষয়ে সাহায্যকারী কাউকে পাবে না।
Or do ye feel secure that He will not send you back a second time to sea and send against you a heavy gale to drown you because of your ingratitude, so that ye find no helper. Therein against Us?
وَلَقَدْ كَرَّمْنَا بَنِي آدَمَ وَحَمَلْنَاهُمْ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَرَزَقْنَاهُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَفَضَّلْنَاهُمْ عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقْنَا تَفْضِيلًا	70
নিশ্চয় আমি আদম সন্তানকে মর্যাদা দান করেছি, আমি তাদেরকে স্থলে ও জলে চলাচলের বাহন দান করেছি; তাদেরকে উত্তম জীবনোপকরণ প্রদান করেছি এবং তাদেরকে অনেক সৃষ্ট বস্তুর উপর শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দান করেছি।
We have honoured the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of our creation.
يَوْمَ نَدْعُو كُلَّ أُنَاسٍ بِإِمَامِهِمْ ۖ فَمَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ يَقْرَءُونَ كِتَابَهُمْ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ فَتِيلًا	71
স্মরণ কর, যেদিন আমি প্রত্যেক দলকে তাদের নেতাসহ আহবান করব, অতঃপর যাদেরকে তাদের ডান হাতে আমলনামা দেয়া হবে, তারা নিজেদের আমলনামা পাঠ করবে এবং তাদের প্রতি সামান্য পরিমাণও জুলুম হবে না।
One day We shall call together all human beings with their (respective) Imams: those who are given their record in their right hand will read it (with pleasure), and they will not be dealt with unjustly in the least.
وَمَن كَانَ فِي هَـٰذِهِ أَعْمَىٰ فَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ أَعْمَىٰ وَأَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا	72
যে ব্যক্তি ইহকালে অন্ধ ছিল সে পরকালেও অন্ধ এবং অধিকতর পথভ্রান্ত।
But those who were blind in this world, will be blind in the hereafter, and most astray from the Path.
وَإِن كَادُوا لَيَفْتِنُونَكَ عَنِ الَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَفْتَرِيَ عَلَيْنَا غَيْرَهُ ۖ وَإِذًا لَّاتَّخَذُوكَ خَلِيلًا	73
তারা তো আপনাকে হটিয়ে দিতে চাচ্ছিল যে বিষয় আমি আপনার প্রতি ওহীর মাধ্যমে যা প্রেরণ করেছি তা থেকে আপনার পদঙ্খলন ঘটানোর জন্যে তারা চুড়ান্ত চেষ্টা করেছে, যাতে আপনি আমার প্রতি কিছু মিথ্যা সম্বন্ধযুক্ত করেন। এতে সফল হলে তারা আপনাকে বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করে নিত।
And their purpose was to tempt thee away from that which We had revealed unto thee, to substitute in our name something quite different; (in that case), behold! they would certainly have made thee (their) friend!
وَلَوْلَا أَن ثَبَّتْنَاكَ لَقَدْ كِدتَّ تَرْكَنُ إِلَيْهِمْ شَيْئًا قَلِيلًا	74
আমি আপনাকে দৃঢ়পদ না রাখলে আপনি তাদের প্রতি কিছুটা ঝুঁকেই পড়তেন।
And had We not given thee strength, thou wouldst nearly have inclined to them a little.
إِذًا لَّأَذَقْنَاكَ ضِعْفَ الْحَيَاةِ وَضِعْفَ الْمَمَاتِ ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُ لَكَ عَلَيْنَا نَصِيرًا	75
তখন আমি অবশ্যই আপনাকে ইহজীবনে ও পরজীবনে দ্বিগুণ শাস্তির আস্বাদন করাতাম। এ সময় আপনি আমার মোকাবিলায় কোন সাহায্যকারী পেতেন না।
In that case We should have made thee taste an equal portion (of punishment) in this life, and an equal portion in death: and moreover thou wouldst have found none to help thee against Us!
وَإِن كَادُوا لَيَسْتَفِزُّونَكَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ لِيُخْرِجُوكَ مِنْهَا ۖ وَإِذًا لَّا يَلْبَثُونَ خِلَافَكَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا	76
তারা তো আপনাকে এ ভুখন্ড থেকে উৎখাত করে দিতে চুড়ান্ত চেষ্টা করেছিল যাতে আপনাকে এখান থেকে বহিস্কার করে দেয়া যায়। তখন তারাও আপনার পর সেখানে অল্প কালই মাত্র টিকে থাকত।
Their purpose was to scare thee off the land, in order to expel thee; but in that case they would not have stayed (therein) after thee, except for a little while.
سُنَّةَ مَن قَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ مِن رُّسُلِنَا ۖ وَلَا تَجِدُ لِسُنَّتِنَا تَحْوِيلًا	77
আপনার পূর্বে আমি যত রসূল প্রেরণ করেছি, তাদের ক্ষেত্রেও এরূপ নিয়ম ছিল। আপনি আমার নিয়মের কোন ব্যতিক্রম পাবেন না।
(This was Our) way with the apostles We sent before thee: thou wilt find no change in Our ways.
أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِدُلُوكِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَىٰ غَسَقِ اللَّيْلِ وَقُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ ۖ إِنَّ قُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُودًا	78
সূর্য ঢলে পড়ার সময় থেকে রাত্রির অন্ধকার পর্যন্ত নামায কায়েম করুন এবং ফজরের কোরআন পাঠও। নিশ্চয় ফজরের কোরআন পাঠ মুখোমুখি হয়।
Establish regular prayers - at the sun's decline till the darkness of the night, and the morning prayer and reading: for the prayer and reading in the morning carry their testimony.
وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَتَهَجَّدْ بِهِ نَافِلَةً لَّكَ عَسَىٰ أَن يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَّحْمُودًا	79
রাত্রির কিছু অংশ কোরআন পাঠ সহ জাগ্রত থাকুন। এটা আপনার জন্যে অতিরিক্ত। হয়ত বা আপনার পালনকর্তা আপনাকে মোকামে মাহমুদে পৌঁছাবেন।
And pray in the small watches of the morning: (it would be) an additional prayer (or spiritual profit) for thee: soon will thy Lord raise thee to a Station of Praise and Glory!
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَدْخِلْنِي مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَأَخْرِجْنِي مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَاجْعَل لِّي مِن لَّدُنكَ سُلْطَانًا نَّصِيرًا	80
বলুনঃ হে পালনকর্তা! আমাকে দাখিল করুন সত্যরূপে এবং আমাকে বের করুন সত্যরূপে এবং দান করুন আমাকে নিজের কাছ থেকে রাষ্ট্রীয় সাহায্য।
Say: "O my Lord! Let my entry be by the Gate of Truth and Honour, and likewise my exit by the Gate of Truth and Honour; and grant me from Thy Presence an authority to aid (me)."
وَقُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ ۚ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا	81
বলুনঃ সত্য এসেছে এবং মিথ্যা বিলুপ্ত হয়েছে। নিশ্চয় মিথ্যা বিলুপ্ত হওয়ারই ছিল।
And say: "Truth has (now) arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish."
وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۙ وَلَا يَزِيدُ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا خَسَارًا	82
আমি কোরআনে এমন বিষয় নাযিল করি যা রোগের সুচিকিৎসা এবং মুমিনের জন্য রহমত। গোনাহগারদের তো এতে শুধু ক্ষতিই বৃদ্ধি পায়।
We send down (stage by stage) in the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing but loss after loss.
وَإِذَا أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَأَىٰ بِجَانِبِهِ ۖ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ كَانَ يَئُوسًا	83
আমি মানুষকে নেয়ামত দান করলে সে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয় এবং অহংকারে দুরে সরে যায়; যখন তাকে কোন অনিষ্ট স্পর্শ করে, তখন সে একেবারে হতাশ হয়ে পড়ে।
Yet when We bestow Our favours on man, he turns away and becomes remote on his side (instead of coming to Us), and when evil seizes him he gives himself up to despair!
قُلْ كُلٌّ يَعْمَلُ عَلَىٰ شَاكِلَتِهِ فَرَبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ هُوَ أَهْدَىٰ سَبِيلًا	84
বলুনঃ প্রত্যেকেই নিজ রীতি অনুযায়ী কাজ করে। অতঃপর আপনার পালনকর্তা বিশেষ রূপে জানেন, কে সর্বাপেক্ষা নির্ভূল পথে আছে।
Say: "Everyone acts according to his own disposition: But your Lord knows best who it is that is best guided on the Way."
وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الرُّوحِ ۖ قُلِ الرُّوحُ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّي وَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا	85
তারা আপনাকে রূহ সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞেস করে। বলে দিনঃ রূহ আমার পালনকর্তার আদেশ ঘটিত। এ বিষয়ে তোমাদেরকে সামান্য জ্ঞানই দান করা হয়েছে।
They ask thee concerning the Spirit (of inspiration). Say: "The Spirit (cometh) by command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you, (O men!)"
وَلَئِن شِئْنَا لَنَذْهَبَنَّ بِالَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ ثُمَّ لَا تَجِدُ لَكَ بِهِ عَلَيْنَا وَكِيلًا	86
আমি ইচ্ছা করলে আপনার কাছে ওহীর মাধমে যা প্রেরণ করেছি তা অবশ্যই প্রত্যাহার করতে পারতাম। অতঃপর আপনি নিজের জন্যে তা আনয়নের ব্যাপারে আমার মোকাবিলায় কোন দায়িত্ব বহনকারী পাবেন না।
If it were Our Will, We could take away that which We have sent thee by inspiration:then wouldst thou find none to plead thy affair in that matter as against Us,-
إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّ فَضْلَهُ كَانَ عَلَيْكَ كَبِيرًا	87
এ প্রত্যাহার না করা আপনার পালনকর্তার মেহেরবানী। নিশ্চয় আপনার প্রতি তাঁর করুণা বিরাট।
Except for Mercy from thy Lord: for his bounty is to thee (indeed) great.
قُل لَّئِنِ اجْتَمَعَتِ الْإِنسُ وَالْجِنُّ عَلَىٰ أَن يَأْتُوا بِمِثْلِ هَـٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ لَا يَأْتُونَ بِمِثْلِهِ وَلَوْ كَانَ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ ظَهِيرًا	88
বলুনঃ যদি মানব ও জ্বিন এই কোরআনের অনুরূপ রচনা করে আনয়নের জন্যে জড়ো হয়, এবং তারা পরস্পরের সাহায্যকারী হয়; তবুও তারা কখনও এর অনুরূপ রচনা করে আনতে পারবে না।
Say: "If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support.
وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِي هَـٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ فَأَبَىٰ أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ إِلَّا كُفُورًا	89
আমি এই কোরআনে মানুষকে বিভিন্ন উপকার দ্বারা সব রকম বিষয়বস্তু বুঝিয়েছি। কিন্তু অধিকাংশ লোক অস্বীকার না করে থাকেনি।
And We have explained to man, in this Qur'an, every kind of similitude: yet the greater part of men refuse (to receive it) except with ingratitude!
وَقَالُوا لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ تَفْجُرَ لَنَا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ يَنبُوعًا	90
এবং তারা বলেঃ আমরা কখনও আপনাকে বিশ্বাস করব না, যে পর্যন্ত না আপনি ভূপৃষ্ঠ থেকে আমাদের জন্যে একটি ঝরণা প্রবাহিত করে দিন।
They say: "We shall not believe in thee, until thou cause a spring to gush forth for us from the earth,
أَوْ تَكُونَ لَكَ جَنَّةٌ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَعِنَبٍ فَتُفَجِّرَ الْأَنْهَارَ خِلَالَهَا تَفْجِيرًا	91
অথবা আপনার জন্যে খেজুরের ও আঙ্গুরের একটি বাগান হবে, অতঃপর আপনি তার মধ্যে নির্ঝরিনীসমূহ প্রবাহিত করে দেবেন।
"Or (until) thou have a garden of date trees and vines, and cause rivers to gush forth in their midst, carrying abundant water;
أَوْ تُسْقِطَ السَّمَاءَ كَمَا زَعَمْتَ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا أَوْ تَأْتِيَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ قَبِيلًا	92
অথবা আপনি যেমন বলে থাকেন, তেমনিভাবে আমাদের উপর আসমানকে খন্ড-বিখন্ড করে ফেলে দেবেন অথবা আল্লাহ ও ফেরেশতাদেরকে আমাদের সামনে নিয়ে আসবেন।
"Or thou cause the sky to fall in pieces, as thou sayest (will happen), against us; or thou bring Allah and the angels before (us) face to face:
أَوْ يَكُونَ لَكَ بَيْتٌ مِّن زُخْرُفٍ أَوْ تَرْقَىٰ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَلَن نُّؤْمِنَ لِرُقِيِّكَ حَتَّىٰ تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْنَا كِتَابًا نَّقْرَؤُهُ ۗ قُلْ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّي هَلْ كُنتُ إِلَّا بَشَرًا رَّسُولًا	93
অথবা আপনার কোন সোনার তৈরী গৃহ হবে অথবা আপনি আকাশে আরোহণ করবেন এবং আমরা আপনার আকাশে আরোহণকে কখনও বিশ্বাস করবনা, যে পর্যন্ত না আপনি অবতীর্ণ করেন আমাদের প্রতি এক গ্রন্থ, যা আমরা পাঠ করব। বলুনঃ পবিত্র মহান আমার পালনকর্তা, একজন মানব, একজন রসূল বৈ আমি কে?
"Or thou have a house adorned with gold, or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No, we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could read." Say: "Glory to my Lord! Am I aught but a man,- an apostle?"
وَمَا مَنَعَ النَّاسَ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا إِذْ جَاءَهُمُ الْهُدَىٰ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا أَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ بَشَرًا رَّسُولًا	94
আল্লাহ কি মানুষকে পয়গম্বর করে পাঠিয়েছেন? তাদের এই উক্তিই মানুষকে ঈমান আনয়ন থেকে বিরত রাখে, যখন তাদের নিকট আসে হেদায়েত।
What kept men back from belief when Guidance came to them, was nothing but this: they said, "Has Allah sent a man (like us) to be (His) Messenger."
قُل لَّوْ كَانَ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَلَائِكَةٌ يَمْشُونَ مُطْمَئِنِّينَ لَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ مَلَكًا رَّسُولًا	95
বলুনঃ যদি পৃথিবীতে ফেরেশতারা স্বচ্ছন্দে বিচরণ করত, তবে আমি আকাশ থেকে কোন ফেরেশতাকেই তাদের নিকট পয়গাম্বর করে প্রেরণ করতাম।
Say, "If there were settled, on earth, angels walking about in peace and quiet, We should certainly have sent them down from the heavens an angel for an apostle."
قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِ خَبِيرًا بَصِيرًا	96
বলুনঃ আমার ও তোমাদের মধ্যে সত্য প্রতিষ্ঠাকারী হিসেবে আল্লাহই যথেষ্ট। তিনি তো স্বীয় বান্দাদের বিষয়ে খবর রাখেন ও দেখেন।
Say: "Enough is Allah for a witness between me and you: for He is well acquainted with His servants, and He sees (all things).
وَمَن يَهْدِ اللَّهُ فَهُوَ الْمُهْتَدِ ۖ وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِهِ ۖ وَنَحْشُرُهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ عُمْيًا وَبُكْمًا وَصُمًّا ۖ مَّأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ كُلَّمَا خَبَتْ زِدْنَاهُمْ سَعِيرًا	97
আল্লাহ যাকে পথ প্রদর্শন করেন, সেই তো সঠিক পথ প্রাপ্ত এবং যাকে পথ ভ্রষ্ট করেন, তাদের জন্যে আপনি আল্লাহ ছাড়া কোন সাহায্যকারী পাবেন না। আমি কেয়ামতের দিন তাদের সমবেত করব তাদের মুখে ভর দিয়ে চলা অবস্থায়, অন্ধ অবস্থায়, মুক অবস্থায় এবং বধির অবস্থায়। তাদের আবাসস্থল জাহান্নাম। যখনই নির্বাপিত হওয়ার উপক্রম হবে আমি তখন তাদের জন্যে অগ্নি আরও বৃদ্ধি করে দিব।
It is he whom Allah guides, that is on true Guidance; but he whom He leaves astray - for such wilt thou find no protector besides Him. On the Day of Judgment We shall gather, them together, prone on their faces, blind, dumb, and deaf: their abode will be Hell: every time it shows abatement, We shall increase from them the fierceness of the Fire.
ذَٰلِكَ جَزَاؤُهُم بِأَنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَقَالُوا أَإِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا وَرُفَاتًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ خَلْقًا جَدِيدًا	98
এটাই তাদের শাস্তি। কারণ, তারা আমার নিদর্শনসমূহ অস্বীকার করেছে এবং বলেছেঃ আমরা যখন অস্থিতে পরিণত ও চুর্ণ-বিচুর্ণ হয়ে যাব, তখনও কি আমরা নতুনভাবে সৃজিত হয়ে উত্থিত হব?
That is their recompense, because they rejected Our signs, and said, "When we are reduced to bones and broken dust, should we really be raised up (to be) a new Creation?"
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ قَادِرٌ عَلَىٰ أَن يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَهُمْ أَجَلًا لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ فَأَبَى الظَّالِمُونَ إِلَّا كُفُورًا	99
তারা কি দেখেনি যে, যে আল্লাহ আসমান ও যমিন সৃজিত করেছেন, তিনি তাদের মত মানুষও পুনরায় সৃষ্টি করতে সক্ষম? তিনি তাদের জন্যে স্থির করেছেন একটি নির্দিষ্ট কাল, এতে কোন সন্দেহ নেই; অতঃপর জালেমরা অস্বীকার ছাড়া কিছু করেনি।
See they not that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, has power to create the like of them (anew)? Only He has decreed a term appointed, of which there is no doubt. But the unjust refuse (to receive it) except with ingratitude.
قُل لَّوْ أَنتُمْ تَمْلِكُونَ خَزَائِنَ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّي إِذًا لَّأَمْسَكْتُمْ خَشْيَةَ الْإِنفَاقِ ۚ وَكَانَ الْإِنسَانُ قَتُورًا	100
বলুনঃ যদি আমার পালনকর্তার রহমতের ভান্ডার তোমাদের হাতে থাকত, তবে ব্যয়িত হয়ে যাওয়ার আশঙ্কায় অবশ্যই তা ধরে রাখতে। মানুষ তো অতিশয় কৃপণ।
Say: "If ye had control of the Treasures of the Mercy of my Lord, behold, ye would keep them back, for fear of spending them: for man is (every) niggardly!"
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ تِسْعَ آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ ۖ فَاسْأَلْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ فَقَالَ لَهُ فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّي لَأَظُنُّكَ يَا مُوسَىٰ مَسْحُورًا	101
আপনি বণী-ইসরাঈলকে জিজ্ঞেস করুন, আমি মূসাকে নয়টি প্রকাশ্য নিদর্শন দান করেছি। যখন তিনি তাদের কাছে আগমন করেন, ফেরাউন তাকে বললঃ হে মূসা, আমার ধারনায় তুমি তো জাদুগ্রস্থ।
To Moses We did give Nine Clear Sings: As the Children of Israel: when he came to them, Pharaoh said to him: "O Moses! I consider thee, indeed, to have been worked upon by sorcery!
قَالَ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا أَنزَلَ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ إِلَّا رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ بَصَائِرَ وَإِنِّي لَأَظُنُّكَ يَا فِرْعَوْنُ مَثْبُورًا	102
তিনি বললেনঃ তুমি জান যে, আসমান ও যমীনের পালনকর্তাই এসব নিদর্শনাবলী প্রত্যক্ষ প্রমাণস্বরূপ নাযিল করেছেন। হে ফেরাউন, আমার ধারণায় তুমি ধ্বংস হতে চলেছো।
Moses said, "Thou knowest well that these things have been sent down by none but the Lord of the heavens and the earth as eye-opening evidence: and I consider thee indeed, O Pharaoh, to be one doomed to destruction!"
فَأَرَادَ أَن يَسْتَفِزَّهُم مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُ جَمِيعًا	103
অতঃপর সে বনী ইসরাঈলকে দেশ থেকে উৎখাত করতে চাইল, তখন আমি তাকে ও তার সঙ্গীদের সবাইকে নিমজ্জত করে দিলাম।
So he resolved to remove them from the face of the earth: but We did drown him and all who were with him.
وَقُلْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اسْكُنُوا الْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا جَاءَ وَعْدُ الْآخِرَةِ جِئْنَا بِكُمْ لَفِيفًا	104
তারপর আমি বনী ইসলাঈলকে বললামঃ এ দেশে তোমরা বসবাস কর। অতঃপর যখন পরকালের ওয়াদা বাস্তবায়িত হবে, তখন তোমাদের কে জড়ো করে নিয়ে উপস্থিত হব।
And We said thereafter to the Children of Israel, "Dwell securely in the land (of promise)": but when the second of the warnings came to pass, We gathered you together in a mingled crowd.
وَبِالْحَقِّ أَنزَلْنَاهُ وَبِالْحَقِّ نَزَلَ ۗ وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا	105
আমি সত্যসহ এ কোরআন নাযিল করেছি এবং সত্য সহ এটা নাযিল হয়েছে। আমি তো আপনাকে শুধু সুসংবাদাতা ও ভয়প্রদর্শক করেই প্রেরণ করেছি।
We sent down the (Qur'an) in Truth, and in Truth has it descended: and We sent thee but to give Glad Tidings and to warn (sinners).
وَقُرْآنًا فَرَقْنَاهُ لِتَقْرَأَهُ عَلَى النَّاسِ عَلَىٰ مُكْثٍ وَنَزَّلْنَاهُ تَنزِيلًا	106
আমি কোরআনকে যতিচিহ্ন সহ পৃথক পৃথকভাবে পাঠের উপযোগী করেছি, যাতে আপনি একে লোকদের কাছে ধীরে ধীরে পাঠ করেন এবং আমি একে যথাযথ ভাবে অবতীর্ণ করেছি।
(It is) a Qur'an which We have divided (into parts from time to time), in order that thou mightest recite it to men at intervals: We have revealed it by stages.
قُلْ آمِنُوا بِهِ أَوْ لَا تُؤْمِنُوا ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ مِن قَبْلِهِ إِذَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ يَخِرُّونَ لِلْأَذْقَانِ سُجَّدًا	107
বলুনঃ তোমরা কোরআনকে মান্য কর অথবা অমান্য কর; যারা এর পূর্ব থেকে এলেম প্রাপ্ত হয়েছে, যখন তাদের কাছে এর তেলাওয়াত করা হয়, তখন তারা নতমস্তকে সেজদায় লুটিয়ে পড়ে।
Say: "Whether ye believe in it or not, it is true that those who were given knowledge beforehand, when it is recited to them, fall down on their faces in humble prostration,
وَيَقُولُونَ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا إِن كَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّنَا لَمَفْعُولًا	108
এবং বলেঃ আমাদের পালনকর্তা পবিত্র, মহান। নিঃসন্দেহে আমাদের পালকর্তার ওয়াদা অবশ্যই পূর্ণ হবে।
"And they say: 'Glory to our Lord! Truly has the promise of our Lord been fulfilled!'"
وَيَخِرُّونَ لِلْأَذْقَانِ يَبْكُونَ وَيَزِيدُهُمْ خُشُوعًا ۩	109
তারা ক্রন্দন করতে করতে নতমস্তকে ভুমিতে লুটিয়ে পড়ে এবং তাদের বিনয়ভাব আরো বৃদ্ধি পায়।
They fall down on their faces in tears, and it increases their (earnest) humility.
قُلِ ادْعُوا اللَّهَ أَوِ ادْعُوا الرَّحْمَـٰنَ ۖ أَيًّا مَّا تَدْعُوا فَلَهُ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا وَابْتَغِ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ سَبِيلًا	110
বলুনঃ আল্লাহ বলে আহবান কর কিংবা রহমান বলে, যে নামেই আহবান কর না কেন, সব সুন্দর নাম তাঁরই। আপনি নিজের নামায আদায়কালে স্বর উচ্চগ্রাসে নিয়ে গিয়ে পড়বেন না এবং নিঃশব্দেও পড়বেন না। এতদুভয়ের মধ্যমপন্থা অবলম্বন করুন।
Say: "Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Neither speak thy Prayer aloud, nor speak it in a low tone, but seek a middle course between."
وَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ وَلِيٌّ مِّنَ الذُّلِّ ۖ وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيرًا	111
বলুনঃ সমস্ত প্রশংসা আল্লাহর যিনি না কোন সন্তান রাখেন, না তাঁর সার্বভৌমত্বে কোন শরীক আছে এবং যিনি দুর্দশাগ্রস্ত হন না, যে কারণে তাঁর কোন সাহয্যকারীর প্রয়োজন হতে পারে। সুতরাং আপনি স-সম্ভ্রমে তাঁর মাহাত্নø বর্ণনা করতে থাকুন।
Say: "Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) dominion: Nor (needs) He any to protect Him from humiliation: yea, magnify Him for His greatness and glory!"

16) সূরা নাহল - Surah An-Nahl (মক্কায় অবতীর্ণ - Ayah 128)

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু।
أَتَىٰ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوهُ ۚ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ	1
আল্লাহর নির্দেশ এসে গেছে। অতএব এর জন্যে তাড়াহুড়া করো না। ওরা যেসব শরীক সাব্যস্ত করছে সেসব থেকে তিনি পবিত্র ও বহু উর্ধ্বে।
(Inevitable) cometh (to pass) the Command of Allah. seek ye not then to hasten it: Glory to Him, and far is He above having the partners they ascribe unto Him!
يُنَزِّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ بِالرُّوحِ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ أَنْ أَنذِرُوا أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاتَّقُونِ	2
তিনি স্বীয় নির্দেশে বান্দাদের মধ্যে যার কাছে ইচ্ছা, নির্দেশসহ ফেরেশতাদেরকে এই মর্মে নাযিল করেন যে, হুশিয়ার করে দাও, আমি ছাড়া কোন উপাস্য নেই। অতএব আমাকে ভয় কর।
He doth send down His angels with inspiration of His Command, to such of His servants as He pleaseth, (saying): "Warn (Man) that there is no god but I: so do your duty unto Me."
خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ تَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ	3
যিনি যথাবিধি আকাশরাজি ও ভূ-মন্ডল সৃষ্টি করেছেন। তারা যাকে শরীক করে তিনি তার বহু উর্ধ্বে।
He has created the heavens and the earth for just ends: Far is He above having the partners they ascribe to Him!
خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُّبِينٌ	4
তিনি মানবকে এক ফোটা বীর্য থেকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন। এতদসত্বেও সে প্রকাশ্য বিতন্ডাকারী হয়ে গেছে।
He has created man from a sperm-drop; and behold this same (man) becomes an open disputer!
وَالْأَنْعَامَ خَلَقَهَا ۗ لَكُمْ فِيهَا دِفْءٌ وَمَنَافِعُ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ	5
চতুষ্পদ জন্তুকে তিনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন। এতে তোমাদের জন্যে শীত বস্ত্রের উপকরণ আছে। আর অনেক উপকার হয়েছে এবং কিছু সংখ্যককে তোমরা আহার্যেø পরিণত করে থাক।
And cattle He has created for you (men): from them ye derive warmth, and numerous benefits, and of their (meat) ye eat.
وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا جَمَالٌ حِينَ تُرِيحُونَ وَحِينَ تَسْرَحُونَ	6
এদের দ্বারা তোমাদের সম্মান হয়, যখন বিকালে চারণভূমি থেকে নিয়ে আস এবং সকালে চারণ ভূমিতে নিয়ে যাও।
And ye have a sense of pride and beauty in them as ye drive them home in the evening, and as ye lead them forth to pasture in the morning.
وَتَحْمِلُ أَثْقَالَكُمْ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٍ لَّمْ تَكُونُوا بَالِغِيهِ إِلَّا بِشِقِّ الْأَنفُسِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ	7
এরা তোমাদের বোঝা এমন শহর পর্যন্ত বহন করে নিয়ে যায়, যেখানে তোমরা প্রাণান্তকর পরিশ্রÛম ব্যতীত পৌছাতে পারতে না। নিশ্চয় তোমাদের প্রভু অত্যন্ত দয়াদ্র, পরম দয়ালু।
And they carry your heavy loads to lands that ye could not (otherwise) reach except with souls distressed: for your Lord is indeed Most Kind, Most Merciful,
وَالْخَيْلَ وَالْبِغَالَ وَالْحَمِيرَ لِتَرْكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةً ۚ وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ	8
তোমাদের আরোহণের জন্যে এবং শোভার জন্যে তিনি ঘোড়া, খচ্চর ও গাধা সৃষ্টি করেছেন। আর তিনি এমন জিনিস সৃষ্টি করেন যা তোমরা জান না।
And (He has created) horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride and use for show; and He has created (other) things of which ye have no knowledge.
وَعَلَى اللَّهِ قَصْدُ السَّبِيلِ وَمِنْهَا جَائِرٌ ۚ وَلَوْ شَاءَ لَهَدَاكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ	9
সরল পথ আল্লাহ পর্যন্ত পৌছে এবং পথগুলোর মধ্যে কিছু বক্র পথও রয়েছে। তিনি ইচ্ছা করলে তোমাদের সবাইকে সৎপথে পরিচালিত করতে পারতেন।
And unto Allah leads straight the Way, but there are ways that turn aside: if Allah had willed, He could have guided all of you.
هُوَ الَّذِي أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً ۖ لَّكُم مِّنْهُ شَرَابٌ وَمِنْهُ شَجَرٌ فِيهِ تُسِيمُونَ	10
তিনি তোমাদের জন্যে আকাশ থেকে পানি বর্ষণ করেছেন। এই পানি থেকে তোমরা পান কর এবং এ থেকেই উদ্ভিদ উৎপন্ন হয়, যাতে তোমরা পশুচারণ কর।
It is He who sends down rain from the sky: from it ye drink, and out of it (grows) the vegetation on which ye feed your cattle.
يُنبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ الزَّرْعَ وَالزَّيْتُونَ وَالنَّخِيلَ وَالْأَعْنَابَ وَمِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ	11
এ পানি দ্বারা তোমাদের জন্যে উৎপাদন করেন ফসল, যয়তুন, খেজুর, আঙ্গুর ও সর্বপ্রকার ফল। নিশ্চয় এতে চিন্তাশীলদের জন্যে নিদর্শন রয়েছে।
With it He produces for you corn, olives, date-palms, grapes and every kind of fruit: verily in this is a sign for those who give thought.
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ۖ وَالنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَاتٌ بِأَمْرِهِ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ	12
তিনিই তোমাদের কাজে নিয়োজিত করেছেন রাত্রি, দিন, সূর্য এবং চন্দ্রকে। তারকাসমূহ তাঁরই বিধানের কর্মে নিয়োজিত রয়েছে। নিশ্চয়ই এতে বোধশক্তিসম্পন্নদের জন্যে নিদর্শনাবলী রয়েছে।
He has made subject to you the Night and the Day; the sun and the moon; and the stars are in subjection by His Command: verily in this are Signs for men who are wise.
وَمَا ذَرَأَ لَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَانُهُ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَذَّكَّرُونَ	13
তোমাদের জন্যে পৃথিবীতে যেসব রং-বেরঙের বস্তু ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন, সেগুলোতে নিদর্শন রয়েছে তাদের জন্যে যারা চিন্তা-ভাবনা করে।
And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colours (and qualities): verily in this is a sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude).
وَهُوَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ الْبَحْرَ لِتَأْكُلُوا مِنْهُ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا وَتَسْتَخْرِجُوا مِنْهُ حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُونَهَا وَتَرَى الْفُلْكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِن فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ	14
তিনিই কাজে লাগিয়ে দিয়েছেন সমুদ্রকে, যাতে তা থেকে তোমরা তাজা মাংস খেতে পার এবং তা থেকে বের করতে পার পরিধেয় অলঙ্কার। তুমি তাতে জলযান সমূহকে পানি চিরে চলতে দেখবে এবং যাতে তোমরা আল্লাহর কৃপা অন্বেষণ কর এবং যাতে তার অনুগ্রহ স্বীকার কর।
It is He Who has made the sea subject, that ye may eat thereof flesh that is fresh and tender, and that ye may extract therefrom ornaments to wear; and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of Allah and that ye may be grateful.
وَأَلْقَىٰ فِي الْأَرْضِ رَوَاسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَارًا وَسُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ	15
এবং তিনি পৃথিবীর উপর বোঝা রেখেছেন যে, কখনো যেন তা তোমাদেরকে নিয়ে হেলে-দুলে না পড়ে এবং নদী ও পথ তৈরী করেছেন, যাতে তোমরা পথ প্রদর্শিত হও।
And He has set up on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and rivers and roads; that ye may guide yourselves;
وَعَلَامَاتٍ ۚ وَبِالنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ	16
এবং তিনি পথ নির্ণয়ক বহু চিহ্ন সৃষ্টি করেছেন, এবং তারকা দ্বারা ও মানুষ পথের নির্দেশ পায়।
And marks and sign-posts; and by the stars (men) guide themselves.
أَفَمَن يَخْلُقُ كَمَن لَّا يَخْلُقُ ۗ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ	17
যিনি সৃষ্টি করে, তিনি কি সে লোকের সমতুল্য যে সৃষ্টি করতে পারে না? তোমরা কি চিন্তা করবে না?
Is then He Who creates like one that creates not? Will ye not receive admonition?
وَإِن تَعُدُّوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَا ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ	18
যদি আল্লাহর নেয়ামত গণনা কর, শেষ করতে পারবে না। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ ক্ষমাশীল, দয়ালু।
If ye would count up the favours of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ	19
আল্লাহ জানেন যা তোমরা গোপন কর এবং যা তোমরা প্রকাশ কর।
And Allah doth know what ye conceal, and what ye reveal.
وَالَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْئًا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ	20
এবং যারা আল্লাহকে ছেড়ে অন্যদের ডাকে, ওরা তো কোন বস্তুই সৃষ্টি করে না; বরং ওরা নিজেরাই সৃজিত।
Those whom they invoke besides Allah create nothing and are themselves created.
أَمْوَاتٌ غَيْرُ أَحْيَاءٍ ۖ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ	21
তারা মৃত-প্রাণহীন এবং কবে পুনরুত্থিত হবে, জানে না।
(They are things) dead, lifeless: nor do they know when they will be raised up.
إِلَـٰهُكُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۚ فَالَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مُّنكِرَةٌ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ	22
আমাদের ইলাহ একক ইলাহ। অনন্তর যারা পরজীবনে বিশ্বাস করে না, তাদের অন্তর সত্যবিমুখ এবং তারা অহংকার প্রদর্শন করেছে।
Your Allah is one Allah. as to those who believe not in the Hereafter, their hearts refuse to know, and they are arrogant.
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ	23
নিঃসন্দেহে আল্লাহ তাদের গোপন ও প্রকাশ্য যাবতীয় বিষয়ে অবগত। নিশ্চিতই তিনি অহংকারীদের পছন্দ করেন না।
Undoubtedly Allah doth know what they conceal, and what they reveal: verily He loveth not the arrogant.
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُم مَّاذَا أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ ۙ قَالُوا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ	24
যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয়ঃ তোমাদের পালনকর্তা কি নাযিল করেছেন? তারা বলেঃ পূর্ববর্তীদের কিসসা-কাহিনী।
When it is said to them, "What is it that your Lord has revealed?" they say, "Tales of the ancients!"
لِيَحْمِلُوا أَوْزَارَهُمْ كَامِلَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۙ وَمِنْ أَوْزَارِ الَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۗ أَلَا سَاءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ	25
ফলে কেয়ামতের দিন ওরা পূর্ণমাত্রায় বহন করবে ওদের পাপভার এবং পাপভার তাদেরও যাদেরকে তারা তাদের অজ্ঞতাহেতু বিপথগামী করে শুনে নাও, খুবই নিকৃষ্ট বোঝা যা তারা বহন করে।
Let them bear, on the Day of Judgment, their own burdens in full, and also (something) of the burdens of those without knowledge, whom they misled. Alas, how grievous the burdens they will bear!
قَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَى اللَّهُ بُنْيَانَهُم مِّنَ الْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّقْفُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَأَتَاهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ	26
নিশ্চয় চক্রান্ত করেছে তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা, অতঃপর আল্লাহ তাদের চক্রান্তের ইমারতের ভিত্তিমূলে আঘাত করেছিলেন। এরপর উপর থেকে তাদের মাথায় ছাদ ধ্বসে পড়ে গেছে এবং তাদের উপর আযাব এসেছে যেখান থেকে তাদের ধারণা ছিল না।
Those before them did also plot (against Allah.s Way): but Allah took their structures from their foundations, and the roof fell down on them from above; and the Wrath seized them from directions they did not perceive.
ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُخْزِيهِمْ وَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَائِيَ الَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تُشَاقُّونَ فِيهِمْ ۚ قَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ إِنَّ الْخِزْيَ الْيَوْمَ وَالسُّوءَ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ	27
অতঃপর কেয়ামতের দিন তিনি তাদেরকে লাঞ্ছিত করবেন এবং বলবেনঃ আমার অংশীদাররা কোথায়, যাদের ব্যাপারে তোমরা খুব হঠকারিতা করতে ? যারা জ্ঞানপ্রাপ্ত হয়েছিল তারা বলবেঃ নিশ্চয়ই আজকের দিনে লাঞ্ছনা ও দুর্গতি কাফেরদের জন্যে,
Then, on the Day of Judgment, He will cover them with shame, and say: "Where are My 'partners' concerning whom ye used to dispute (with the godly)?" Those endued with knowledge will say: "This Day, indeed, are the Unbelievers covered with shame and misery,-
الَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ ظَالِمِي أَنفُسِهِمْ ۖ فَأَلْقَوُا السَّلَمَ مَا كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ مِن سُوءٍ ۚ بَلَىٰ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ	28
ফেরেশতারা তাদের জান এমতাঅবস্থায় কবজ করে যে, তারা নিজেদের উপর যুলুম করেছে। তখন তারা অনুগত্য প্রকাশ করবে যে, আমরা তো কোন মন্দ কাজ করতাম না। হঁ্যা নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ সববিষয় অবগত আছেন, যা তোমরা করতে।
"(Namely) those whose lives the angels take in a state of wrong-doing to their own souls." Then would they offer submission (with the pretence), "We did no evil (knowingly)." (The angels will reply), "Nay, but verily Allah knoweth all that ye did;
فَادْخُلُوا أَبْوَابَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ فَلَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ	29
অতএব, জাহান্নামের দরজসমূহে প্রবেশ কর, এতেই অনন্তকাল বাস কর। আর অহংকারীদের আবাসস্থল কতই নিকৃষ্ট।
"So enter the gates of Hell, to dwell therein. Thus evil indeed is the abode of the arrogant."
وَقِيلَ لِلَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا مَاذَا أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ ۚ قَالُوا خَيْرًا ۗ لِّلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا فِي هَـٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةٌ ۚ وَلَدَارُ الْآخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ ۚ وَلَنِعْمَ دَارُ الْمُتَّقِينَ	30
পরহেযগারদেরকে বলা হয়ঃ তোমাদের পালনকর্তা কি নাযিল করেছেন? তারা বলেঃ মহাকল্যাণ। যারা এ জগতে সৎকাজ করে, তাদের জন্যে কল্যাণ রয়েছে এবং পরকালের গৃহ আরও উত্তম। পরহেযগারদের গৃহ কি চমৎকার?
To the righteous (when) it is said, "What is it that your Lord has revealed?" they say, "All that is good." To those who do good, there is good in this world, and the Home of the Hereafter is even better and excellent indeed is the Home of the righteous,-
جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۖ لَهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَاءُونَ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَجْزِي اللَّهُ الْمُتَّقِينَ	31
সর্বদা বসবাসের উদ্যান, তারা যাতে প্রবেশ করবে। এর পাদদেশে দিয়ে স্রোতস্বিনী প্রবাহিত হয় তাদের জন্যে তাতে তা-ই রয়েছে, যা তারা চায় এমনিভাবে প্রতিদান দেবেন আল্লাহর পরহেযগারদেরকে,
Gardens of Eternity which they will enter: beneath them flow (pleasant) rivers: they will have therein all that they wish: thus doth Allah reward the righteous,-
الَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ طَيِّبِينَ ۙ يَقُولُونَ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ادْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ	32
ফেরেশতা যাদের জান কবজ করেন তাদের পবিত্র থাকা অবস্থায়। ফেরেশতারা বলেঃ তোমাদের প্রতি শাস্তি বর্ষিত হোক। তোমরা যা করতে, তার প্রতিদানে জান্নাতে প্রবেশ কর।
(Namely) those whose lives the angels take in a state of purity, saying (to them), "Peace be on you; enter ye the Garden, because of (the good) which ye did (in the world)."
هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ	33
কাফেররা কি এখন অপেক্ষা করছে যে, তাদের কাছে ফেরেশতারা আসবে কিংবা আপনার পালনকর্তার নির্দেশ পৌছবে? তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা এমনই করেছিল। আল্লাহ তাদের প্রতি অবিচার করেননি; কিন্তু তারা স্বয়ং নিজেদের প্রতি জুলুম করেছিল।
Do the (ungodly) wait until the angels come to them, or there comes the Command of thy Lord (for their doom)? So did those who went before them. But Allah wronged them not: nay, they wronged their own souls.
فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ	34
সুতরাং তাদের মন্দ কাজের শাস্তি তাদেরই মাথায় আপতিত হয়েছে এবং তারা যে ঠাট্টা বিদ্রুপ করত, তাই উল্টে তাদের উপর পড়েছে।
But the evil results of their deeds overtook them, and that very (Wrath) at which they had scoffed hemmed them in.
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا لَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مَا عَبَدْنَا مِن دُونِهِ مِن شَيْءٍ نَّحْنُ وَلَا آبَاؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن دُونِهِ مِن شَيْءٍ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ فَهَلْ عَلَى الرُّسُلِ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ	35
মুশরিকরা বললঃ যদি আল্লাহ চাইতেন, তবে আমরা তাঁকে ছাড়া কারও এবাদত করতাম না এবং আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষেরাও করত না এবং তাঁর নির্দেশ ছাড়া কোন বস্তুই আমরা হারাম করতাম না। তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা এমনই করেছে। রাসূলের দায়িত্ব তো শুধুমাত্র সুস্পষ্ট বাণী পৌছিয়ে দেয়া।
The worshippers of false gods say: "If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped aught but Him - neither we nor our fathers,- nor should we have prescribed prohibitions other than His." So did those who went before them. But what is the mission of apostles but to preach the Clear Message?
وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَّسُولًا أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاجْتَنِبُوا الطَّاغُوتَ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ هَدَى اللَّهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الضَّلَالَةُ ۚ فَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ	36
আমি প্রত্যেক উম্মতের মধ্যেই রাসূল প্রেরণ করেছি এই মর্মে যে, তোমরা আল্লাহর এবাদত কর এবং তাগুত থেকে নিরাপদ থাক। অতঃপর তাদের মধ্যে কিছু সংখ্যককে আল্লাহ হেদায়েত করেছেন এবং কিছু সংখ্যকের জন্যে বিপথগামিতা অবধারিত হয়ে গেল। সুতরাং তোমরা পৃথিবীতে ভ্রমণ কর এবং দেখ মিথ্যারোপকারীদের কিরূপ পরিণতি হয়েছে।
For We assuredly sent amongst every People an apostle, (with the Command), "Serve Allah, and eschew Evil": of the People were some whom Allah guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth).
إِن تَحْرِصْ عَلَىٰ هُدَاهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي مَن يُضِلُّ ۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ	37
আপনি তাদেরকে সুপথে আনতে আগ্রহী হলেও আল্লাহ যাকে বিপথগামী করেন তিনি তাকে পথ দেখান না এবং তাদের কোন সাহায্যকারী ও নেই।
If thou art anxious for their guidance, yet Allah guideth not such as He leaves to stray, and there is none to help them.
وَأَقْسَمُوا بِاللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَانِهِمْ ۙ لَا يَبْعَثُ اللَّهُ مَن يَمُوتُ ۚ بَلَىٰ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ	38
তারা আল্লাহর নামে কঠোর শপথ করে যে, যার মৃত্যু হয় আল্লাহ তাকে পুনরুজ্জীবিত করবেন না। অবশ্যই এর পাকাপোক্ত ওয়াদা হয়ে গেছে। কিন্তু, অধিকাংশ লোক জানে না।
They swear their strongest oaths by Allah, that Allah will not raise up those who die: Nay, but it is a promise (binding) on Him in truth: but most among mankind realise it not.
لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ الَّذِي يَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا كَاذِبِينَ	39
তিনি পুনরুজ্জীবিত করবেনই, যাতে যে বিষয়ে তাদের মধ্যে মতানৈক্য ছিল তা প্রকাশ করা যায় এবং যাতে কাফেরেরা জেনে নেয় যে, তারা মিথ্যাবাদী ছিল।
(They must be raised up), in order that He may manifest to them the truth of that wherein they differ, and that the rejecters of Truth may realise that they had indeed (surrendered to) Falsehood.
إِنَّمَا قَوْلُنَا لِشَيْءٍ إِذَا أَرَدْنَاهُ أَن نَّقُولَ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ	40
আমি যখন কোন কিছু করার ইচ্ছা করি; তখন তাকে কেবল এতটুকুই বলি যে, হয়ে যাও,। সুতরাং তা হয়ে যায়।
For to anything which We have willed, We but say the word, "Be", and it is.
وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا فِي اللَّهِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً ۖ وَلَأَجْرُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ	41
যারা নির্যাতিত হওয়ার পর আল্লাহর জন্যে গৃহত্যাগ করেছে, আমি অবশ্যই তাদেরকে দুনিয়াতে উত্তম আবাস দেব এবং পরকালের পুরস্কার তো সর্বাধিক; হায়! যদি তারা জানত।
To those who leave their homes in the cause of Allah, after suffering oppression,- We will assuredly give a goodly home in this world; but truly the reward of the Hereafter will be greater. If they only realised (this)!
الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ	42
যারা দৃঢ়পদ রয়েছে এবং তাদের পালনকর্তার উপর ভরসা করেছে।
(They are) those who persevere in patience, and put their trust on their Lord.
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ	43
আপনার পূর্বেও আমি প্রত্যাদেশসহ মানবকেই তাদের প্রতি প্রেরণ করেছিলাম অতএব জ্ঞানীদেরকে জিজ্ঞেস কর, যদি তোমাদের জানা না থাকে;
And before thee also the apostles We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: if ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message.
بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالزُّبُرِ ۗ وَأَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الذِّكْرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ	44
প্রেরণ করেছিলাম তাদেরকে নিêেদশাবলী ও অবতীর্ণ গ্রন্থসহ এবং আপনার কাছে আমি স্মরণিকা অবতীর্ণ করেছি, যাতে আপনি লোকদের সামনে ঐসব বিষয় বিবৃত করেন, যে গুলো তোদের প্রতি নাযিল করা হয়েছে, যাতে তারা চিন্তা-ভাবনা করে।
(We sent them) with Clear Signs and Books of dark prophecies; and We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message; that thou mayest explain clearly to men what is sent for them, and that they may give thought.
أَفَأَمِنَ الَّذِينَ مَكَرُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ أَن يَخْسِفَ اللَّهُ بِهِمُ الْأَرْضَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ	45
যারা কুচক্র করে, তারা কি এ বিষয়ে ভয় করে না যে, আল্লাহ তাদেরকে ভূগর্ভে বিলীন করে দিবেন কিংবা তাদের কাছে এমন জায়গা থেকে আযাব আসবে যা তাদের ধারণাতীত।
Do then those who devise evil (plots) feel secure that Allah will not cause the earth to swallow them up, or that the Wrath will not seize them from directions they little perceive?-
أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ فِي تَقَلُّبِهِمْ فَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ	46
কিংবা চলাফেরার মধ্যেই তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করবে, তারা তো তা ব্যর্থ করতে পারবে না।
Or that He may not call them to account in the midst of their goings to and fro, without a chance of their frustrating Him?-
أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٍ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ	47
কিংবা ভীতি প্রদর্শনের পর তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করবেন? তোমাদের পালনকর্তা তো অত্যন্ত নম্র, দয়ালু।
Or that He may not call them to account by a process of slow wastage - for thy Lord is indeed full of kindness and mercy.
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِن شَيْءٍ يَتَفَيَّأُ ظِلَالُهُ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَالشَّمَائِلِ سُجَّدًا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمْ دَاخِرُونَ	48
তারা কি আল্লাহর সৃজিত বস্তু দেখে না, যার ছায়া আল্লাহর প্রতি বিনীতভাবে সেজদাবনত থেকে ডান ও বাম দিকে ঝুঁকে পড়ে।
Do they not look at Allah.s creation, (even) among (inanimate) things,- How their (very) shadows turn round, from the right and the left, prostrating themselves to Allah, and that in the humblest manner?
وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ مِن دَابَّةٍ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ	49
আল্লাহকে সেজদা করে যা কিছু নভোমন্ডলে আছে এবং যা কিছু ভুমন্ডলে আছে এবং ফেরেশতাগণ; তারা অহংকার করে না।
And to Allah doth obeisance all that is in the heavens and on earth, whether moving (living) creatures or the angels: for none are arrogant (before their Lord).
يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ۩	50
তারা তাদের উপর পরাক্রমশালী তাদের পালনকর্তাকে ভয় করে এবং তারা যা আদেশ পায়, তা করে
They all revere their Lord, high above them, and they do all that they are commanded.
وَقَالَ اللَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا إِلَـٰهَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ ۖ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَـٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ فَإِيَّايَ فَارْهَبُونِ	51
আল্লাহ বললেনঃ তোমরা দুই উপাস্য গ্রহণ করো না উপাস্য তো মাত্র একজনই। অতএব আমাকেই ভয় কর।
Allah has said: "Take not (for worship) two gods: for He is just One Allah. then fear Me (and Me alone)."
وَلَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَهُ الدِّينُ وَاصِبًا ۚ أَفَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ	52
যা কিছু নভোমন্ডল ও ভুমন্ডলে আছে তা তাঁরই এবাদত করা শাশ্বত কর্তব্য। তোমরা কি আল্লাহ ব্যতীত কাউকে ভয় করবে?
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and on earth, and to Him is duty due always: then will ye fear other than Allah.
وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللَّهِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْأَرُونَ	53
তোমাদের কাছে যে সমস্ত নেয়ামত আছে, তা আল্লাহরই পক্ষ থেকে। অতঃপর তোমরা যখন দুঃখে-কষ্টে পতিত হও তখন তাঁরই নিকট কান্নাকাটি কর।
And ye have no good thing but is from Allah. and moreover, when ye are touched by distress, unto Him ye cry with groans;
ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ الضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ	54
এরপর যখন আল্লাহ তোমাদের কষ্ট দুরীভূত করে দেন, তখনই তোমাদের একদল স্বীয় পালনকর্তার সাথে অংশীদার সাব্যস্ত করতে থাকে।
Yet, when He removes the distress from you, behold! some of you turn to other gods to join with their Lord-
لِيَكْفُرُوا بِمَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ ۚ فَتَمَتَّعُوا ۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ	55
যাতে ঐ নেয়ামত অস্বীকার করে, যা আমি তাদেরকে দিয়েছি। অতএব মজা ভোগ করে নাও-সত্বরই তোমরা জানতে পারবে।
(As if) to show their ingratitude for the favours we have bestowed on them! then enjoy (your brief day): but soon will ye know (your folly)!
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ نَصِيبًا مِّمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ ۗ تَاللَّهِ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَفْتَرُونَ	56
তারা আমার দেয়া জীবনোপকরণ থেকে তাদের জন্যে একটি অংশ নির্ধারিত করে, যাদের কোন খবরই তারা রাখে না। আল্লাহর কসম, তোমরা যে অপবাদ আরোপ করছ, সে সম্পর্কে অবশ্যই জিজ্ঞাসিত হবে।
And they (even) assign, to things they do not know, a portion out of that which We have bestowed for their sustenance! By Allah, ye shall certainly be called to account for your false inventions.
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ الْبَنَاتِ سُبْحَانَهُ ۙ وَلَهُم مَّا يَشْتَهُونَ	57
তারা আল্লাহর জন্যে কন্যা সন্তান নির্ধারণ করে-তিনি পবিত্র মহিমান্বিত এবং নিজেদের জন্যে ওরা তাই স্থির করে যা ওরা চায়।
And they assign daughters for Allah. - Glory be to Him! - and for themselves (sons,- the issue) they desire!
وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِالْأُنثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ	58
যখন তাদের কাউকে কন্যা সন্তানের সুসংবাদ দেয়া হয়, তখন তারা মুখ কাল হয়ে যায় এবং অসহ্য মনস্তাপে ক্লিষ্ট হতে থাকে।
When news is brought to one of them, of (the birth of) a female (child), his face darkens, and he is filled with inward grief!
يَتَوَارَىٰ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ مِن سُوءِ مَا بُشِّرَ بِهِ ۚ أَيُمْسِكُهُ عَلَىٰ هُونٍ أَمْ يَدُسُّهُ فِي التُّرَابِ ۗ أَلَا سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ	59
তাকে শোনানো সুসংবাদের দুঃখে সে লোকদের কাছ থেকে মুখ লুকিয়ে থাকে। সে ভাবে, অপমান সহ্য করে তাকে থাকতে দেবে, না তাকে মাটির নীচে পুতে ফেলবে। শুনে রাখ, তাদের ফয়সালা খুবই নিকৃষ্ট।
With shame does he hide himself from his people, because of the bad news he has had! Shall he retain it on (sufferance and) contempt, or bury it in the dust? Ah! what an evil (choice) they decide on?
لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ مَثَلُ السَّوْءِ ۖ وَلِلَّهِ الْمَثَلُ الْأَعْلَىٰ ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ	60
যারা পরকাল বিশ্বাস করে না, তাদের উদাহরণ নিকৃষ্ট এবং আল্লাহর উদাহরণই মহান, তিনি পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
To those who believe not in the Hereafter, applies the similitude of evil: to Allah applies the highest similitude: for He is the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.
وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللَّهُ النَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِم مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِن دَابَّةٍ وَلَـٰكِن يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۖ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً ۖ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ	61
যদি আল্লাহ লোকদেরকে তাদের অন্যায় কাজের কারণে পাকড়াও করতেন, তবে ভুপৃষ্ঠে চলমান কোন কিছুকেই ছাড়তেন না। কিন্তু তিনি প্রতিশ্রুতি সময় পর্যন্ত তাদেরকে অবকাশ দেন। অতঃপর নির্ধারিত সময়ে যখন তাদের মৃত্যু এসে যাবে, তখন এক মুহুর্তও বিলম্বিত কিংবা তরাম্বিত করতে পারবে না।
If Allah were to punish men for their wrong-doing, He would not leave, on the (earth), a single living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: When their Term expires, they would not be able to delay (the punishment) for a single hour, just as they would not be able to anticipate it (for a single hour).
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ مَا يَكْرَهُونَ وَتَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُهُمُ الْكَذِبَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ الْحُسْنَىٰ ۖ لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ النَّارَ وَأَنَّهُم مُّفْرَطُونَ	62
যা নিজেদের মন চায় না তারই তারা আল্লাহর জন্যে সাব্যস্ত করে এবং তাদের জিহবা মিথ্যা বর্ণনা করে যে, তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে কল্যাণ। স্বতঃসিদ্ধ কথা যে, তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে আগুন এবং তাদেরকেই সর্বাগ্রে নিক্ষেপ করা হবে।
They attribute to Allah what they hate (for themselves), and their tongues assert the falsehood that all good things are for themselves: without doubt for them is the Fire, and they will be the first to be hastened on into it!
تَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَىٰ أُمَمٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ	63
আল্লাহর কসম, আমি আপনার পূর্বে বিভিন্ন সম্প্রদায়ে রাসূল প্রেরণ করেছি, অতঃপর শয়তান তাদেরকে কর্ম সমূহ শোভনীয় করে দেখিয়েছে। আজ সেই তাদের অভিভাবক এবং তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি।
By Allah, We (also) sent (Our apostles) to Peoples before thee; but Satan made, (to the wicked), their own acts seem alluring: He is also their patron today, but they shall have a most grievous penalty.
وَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ الَّذِي اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ ۙ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ	64
আমি আপনার প্রতি এ জন্যেই গ্রন্থ নাযিল করেছি, যাতে আপনি সরল পথ প্রদর্শনের জন্যে তাদের কে পরিষ্কার বর্ণনা করে দেন, যে বিষয়ে তারা মতবিরোধ করছে এবং ঈমানদারকে ক্ষমা করার জন্যে।
And We sent down the Book to thee for the express purpose, that thou shouldst make clear to them those things in which they differ, and that it should be a guide and a mercy to those who believe.
وَاللَّهُ أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ	65
আল্লাহ আকাশ থেকে পানি বর্ষণ করেছেন, তদ্বারা যমীনকে তার মৃত্যুর পর পুনর্জীবিত করেছেন। নিশ্চয় এতে তাদের জন্যে নিদর্শন রয়েছে, যারা শ্রবণ করে।
And Allah sends down rain from the skies, and gives therewith life to the earth after its death: verily in this is a Sign for those who listen.
وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الْأَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً ۖ نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِي بُطُونِهِ مِن بَيْنِ فَرْثٍ وَدَمٍ لَّبَنًا خَالِصًا سَائِغًا لِّلشَّارِبِينَ	66
তোমাদের জন্যে চতুস্পদ জন্তুদের মধ্যে চিন্তা করার অবকাশ রয়েছে। আমি তোমাদেরকে পান করাই তাদের উদরস্থিত বস্তুসমুহের মধ্যে থেকে গোবর ও রক্ত নিঃসৃত দুগ্ধ যা পানকারীদের জন্যে উপাদেয়।
And verily in cattle (too) will ye find an instructive sign. From what is within their bodies between excretions and blood, We produce, for your drink, milk, pure and agreeable to those who drink it.
وَمِن ثَمَرَاتِ النَّخِيلِ وَالْأَعْنَابِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا وَرِزْقًا حَسَنًا ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ	67
এবং খেজুর বৃক্ষ ও আঙ্গুর ফল থেকে তোমরা মধ্য ও উত্তম খাদ্য তৈরী করে থাক, এতে অবশ্যই বোধশক্তি সম্পন্ন সম্প্রদায়ের জন্যে নিদর্শন রয়েছে।
And from the fruit of the date-palm and the vine, ye get out wholesome drink and food: behold, in this also is a sign for those who are wise.
وَأَوْحَىٰ رَبُّكَ إِلَى النَّحْلِ أَنِ اتَّخِذِي مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا وَمِنَ الشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُونَ	68
আপনার পালনকর্তা মধু মক্ষিকাকে আদেশ দিলেনঃ পর্বতগাহ্রে, বৃক্ষ এবং উঁচু চালে গৃহ তৈরী কর,
And thy Lord taught the Bee to build its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men's) habitations;
ثُمَّ كُلِي مِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ فَاسْلُكِي سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًا ۚ يَخْرُجُ مِن بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ فِيهِ شِفَاءٌ لِّلنَّاسِ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ	69
এরপর সর্বপ্রকার ফল থেকে ভক্ষণ কর এবং আপন পালনকর্তার উম্মুক্ত পথ সমূহে চলমান হও। তার পেট থেকে বিভিন্ন রঙে পানীয় নির্গত হয়। তাতে মানুষের জন্যে রয়েছে রোগের প্রতিকার। নিশ্চয় এতে চিন্তাশীল সম্প্রদায়ের জন্যে নিদর্শন রয়েছে।
Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought.
وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَفَّاكُمْ ۚ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰ أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْ لَا يَعْلَمَ بَعْدَ عِلْمٍ شَيْئًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌ	70
আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন এরপর তোমাদের মৃত্যুদান করেন। তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউ কেউ পৌছে যায় জরাগ্রস্ত অকর্মন্য বয়সে, ফলে যা কিছু তারা জানত সে সম্পর্কে তারা সজ্ঞান থাকবে না। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ সু-বিজ্ঞ সর্বশক্তিমান।
It is Allah who creates you and takes your souls at death; and of you there are some who are sent back to a feeble age, so that they know nothing after having known (much): for Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.
وَاللَّهُ فَضَّلَ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فِي الرِّزْقِ ۚ فَمَا الَّذِينَ فُضِّلُوا بِرَادِّي رِزْقِهِمْ عَلَىٰ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِيهِ سَوَاءٌ ۚ أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ	71
আল্লাহ তা'আলা জীবনোপকরণে তোমাদের একজনকে অন্যজনের চাইতে শ্রেষ্টত্ব দিয়েছেন। অতএব যাদেরকে শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব দেয়া হয়েছে, তারা তাদের অধীনস্থ দাস-দাসীদেরকে স্বীয় জীবিকা থেকে এমন কিছু দেয় না, যাতে তারা এ বিষয়ে তাদের সমান হয়ে যাবে। তবে কি তারা আল্লাহর নেয়ামত অস্বীকার করে।
Allah has bestowed His gifts of sustenance more freely on some of you than on others: those more favoured are not going to throw back their gifts to those whom their right hands possess, so as to be equal in that respect. Will they then deny the favours of Allah.
وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةً وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ ۚ أَفَبِالْبَاطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ اللَّهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ	72
আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্যে তোমাদেরই শ্রেণী থেকে জোড়া পয়দা করেছেন এবং তোমাদের যুগল থেকে তোমাদেরকে পুত্র ও পৌত্রাদি দিয়েছেন এবং তোমাদেরকে উত্তম জীবনোপকরণ দান করেছেন। অতএব তারা কি মিথ্যা বিষয়ে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে এবং আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ অস্বীকার করে?
And Allah has made for you mates (and companions) of your own nature, and made for you, out of them, sons and daughters and grandchildren, and provided for you sustenance of the best: will they then believe in vain things, and be ungrateful for Allah.s favours?-
وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ رِزْقًا مِّنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ	73
তারা আল্লাহ ব্যতীত এমন বস্তুর ইবাদত করে, যে তাদের জন্যে ভুমন্ডল ও নভোমন্ডল থেকে সামান্য রুযী দেওয়ার ও অধিকার রাখে না এবং মুক্তি ও রাখে না।
And worship others than Allah,- such as have no power of providing them, for sustenance, with anything in heavens or earth, and cannot possibly have such power?
فَلَا تَضْرِبُوا لِلَّهِ الْأَمْثَالَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ	74
অতএব, আল্লাহর কোন সদৃশ সাব্যস্ত করো না, নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ জানেন এবং তোমরা জান না।
Invent not similitudes for Allah. for Allah knoweth, and ye know not.
ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا عَبْدًا مَّمْلُوكًا لَّا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ وَمَن رَّزَقْنَاهُ مِنَّا رِزْقًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرًّا وَجَهْرًا ۖ هَلْ يَسْتَوُونَ ۚ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ	75
আল্লাহ একটি দৃষ্টান্ত বর্ণনা করেছেন, অপরের মালিকানাধীন গোলামের যে, কোন কিছুর উপর শক্তি রাখে না এবং এমন একজন যাকে আমি নিজের পক্ষ থেকে চমৎকার রুযী দিয়েছি। অতএব, সে তা থেকে ব্যয় করে গোপনে ও প্রকাশ্যে উভয়ে কি সমান হয়? সব প্রশংসা আল্লাহর, কিন্তু অনেক মানুষ জানে না।
Allah sets forth the Parable (of two men: one) a slave under the dominion of another; He has no power of any sort; and (the other) a man on whom We have bestowed goodly favours from Ourselves, and he spends thereof (freely), privately and publicly: are the two equal? (By no means;) praise be to Allah. But most of them understand not.
وَضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا رَّجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَبْكَمُ لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَىٰ مَوْلَاهُ أَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لَا يَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ ۖ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي هُوَ وَمَن يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ ۙ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ	76
আল্লাহ আরেকটি দৃষ্টান্ত বর্ণনা করেছেন, দু'ব্যক্তির, একজন বোবা কোন কাজ করতে পারে না। সে মালিকের উপর বোঝা। যেদিকে তাকে পাঠায়, কোন সঠিক কাজ করে আসে না। সে কি সমান হবে ঐ ব্যক্তির, যে ন্যায় বিচারের আদেশ করে এবং সরল পথে কায়েম রয়েছে।
Allah sets forth (another) Parable of two men: one of them dumb, with no power of any sort; a wearisome burden is he to his master; whichever way be directs him, he brings no good: is such a man equal with one who commands Justice, and is on a Straight Way?
وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَمَا أَمْرُ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا كَلَمْحِ الْبَصَرِ أَوْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ	77
নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডলের গোপন রহস্য আল্লাহর কাছেই রয়েছে। কিয়ামতের ব্যাপারটি তো এমন, যেমন চোখের পলক অথবা তার চাইতেও নিকটবর্তী। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ সব কিছুর উপর শক্তিমান।
To Allah belongeth the Mystery of the heavens and the earth. And the Decision of the Hour (of Judgment) is as the twinkling of an eye, or even quicker: for Allah hath power over all things.
وَاللَّهُ أَخْرَجَكُم مِّن بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۙ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ	78
আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে তোমাদের মায়ের গর্ভ থেকে বের করেছেন। তোমরা কিছুই জানতে না। তিনি তোমাদেরকে কর্ণ, চক্ষু ও অন্তর দিয়েছেন, যাতে তোমরা অনুগ্রহ স্বীকার কর।
It is He Who brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers when ye knew nothing; and He gave you hearing and sight and intelligence and affections: that ye may give thanks (to Allah..
أَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ فِي جَوِّ السَّمَاءِ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ	79
তারা কি উড়ন্ত পাখীকে দেখে না? এগুলো আকাশের অন্তরীক্ষে আজ্ঞাধীন রয়েছে। আল্লাহ ছাড়া কেউ এগুলোকে আগলে রাখে না। নিশ্চয় এতে বিশ্বাসীদের জন্যে নিদর্শনবলী রয়েছে।
Do they not look at the birds, held poised in the midst of (the air and) the sky? Nothing holds them up but (the power of) Allah. Verily in this are signs for those who believe.
وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن بُيُوتِكُمْ سَكَنًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن جُلُودِ الْأَنْعَامِ بُيُوتًا تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا يَوْمَ ظَعْنِكُمْ وَيَوْمَ إِقَامَتِكُمْ ۙ وَمِنْ أَصْوَافِهَا وَأَوْبَارِهَا وَأَشْعَارِهَا أَثَاثًا وَمَتَاعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ	80
আল্লাহ করে দিয়েছেন তোমাদের গৃহকে অবস্থানের জায়গা এবং চতুস্পদ জন্তুর চামড়া দ্বারা করেছেন তোমার জন্যে তাঁবুর ব্যবস্থা। তোমরা এগুলোকে সফরকালে ও অবস্থান কালে পাও। ভেড়ার পশম, উটের বাবরি চুল ও ছাগলের লোম দ্বারা কত আসবাবপত্র ও ব্যবহারের সামগ্রী তৈরী করেছেন এক নির্দিষ্ট সময় পর্যন্ত।
It is Allah Who made your habitations homes of rest and quiet for you; and made for you, out of the skins of animals, (tents for) dwellings, which ye find so light (and handy) when ye travel and when ye stop (in your travels); and out of their wool, and their soft fibres (between wool and hair), and their hair, rich stuff and articles of convenience (to serve you) for a time.
وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلَالًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ الْجِبَالِ أَكْنَانًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَابِيلَ تَقِيكُمُ الْحَرَّ وَسَرَابِيلَ تَقِيكُم بَأْسَكُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْلِمُونَ	81
আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্যে সৃজিত বস্তু দ্বারা ছায়া করে দিয়েছেন এবং পাহাড় সমূহে তোমাদের জন্যে আত্ন গোপনের জায়গা করেছেন এবং তোমাদের জন্যে পোশাক তৈরী করে দিয়েছেন, যা তোমাদেরকে গ্রীষ্ম এবং বিপদের সময় রক্ষা করে। এমনিভাবে তিনি তোমাদের প্রতি স্বীয় অনুগ্রহের পূর্ণতা দান করেন, যাতে তোমরা আত্নসমর্পণ কর।
It is Allah Who made out of the things He created, some things to give you shade; of the hills He made some for your shelter; He made you garments to protect you from heat, and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence. Thus does He complete His favours on you, that ye may bow to His Will (in Islam).
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ	82
অতঃপর যদি তারা পৃষ্ঠ প্রদর্শন করে, তবে আপনার কাজ হল সুস্পষ্ট ভাবে পৌছে দেয়া মাত্র।
But if they turn away, thy duty is only to preach the clear Message.
يَعْرِفُونَ نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنكِرُونَهَا وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ	83
তারা আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ চিনে, এরপর অস্বীকার করে এবং তাদের অধিকাংশই অকৃতজ্ঞ।
They recognise the favours of Allah. then they deny them; and most of them are (creatures) ungrateful.
وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا ثُمَّ لَا يُؤْذَنُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ	84
যেদিন আমি প্রত্যেক উম্মত থেকে একজন বর্ণনাকারী দাঁড় করাব, তখন কাফেরদেরকে অনুমতি দেয়া হবে না এবং তাদের তওবা ও গ্রহণ করা হবে না।
One Day We shall raise from all Peoples a Witness: then will no excuse be accepted from Unbelievers, nor will they receive any favours.
وَإِذَا رَأَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا الْعَذَابَ فَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ	85
যখন জালেমরা আযাব প্রত্যক্ষ করবে, তখন তাদের থেকে তা লঘু করা হবে না এবং তাদেরকে কোন অবকাশ দেয়া হবে না।
When the wrong-doers (actually) see the Penalty, then will it in no way be mitigated, nor will they then receive respite.
وَإِذَا رَأَى الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا شُرَكَاءَهُمْ قَالُوا رَبَّنَا هَـٰؤُلَاءِ شُرَكَاؤُنَا الَّذِينَ كُنَّا نَدْعُو مِن دُونِكَ ۖ فَأَلْقَوْا إِلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلَ إِنَّكُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ	86
মুশরিকরা যখন ঐ সব বস্তুকে দেখবে, যেসবকে তারা আল্লাহর সাথে শরীক সাব্যস্ত করেছিল, তখন বলবেঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা এরাই তারা যারা আমাদের শেরেকীর উপাদান, তোমাকে ছেড়ে আমরা যাদেরকে ডাকতাম। তখন ওরা তাদেরকে বলবেঃ তোমরা মিথ্যাবাদী।
When those who gave partners to Allah will see their "partners", they will say: "Our Lord! these are our 'partners,' those whom we used to invoke besides Thee." But they will throw back their word at them (and say): "Indeed ye are liars!"
وَأَلْقَوْا إِلَى اللَّهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ السَّلَمَ ۖ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ	87
সেদিন তারা আল্লাহর সামনে আত্নসমর্পন করবে এবং তারা যে মিথ্যা অপবাদ দিত তা বিস্মৃত হবে।
That Day shall they (openly) show (their) submission to Allah. and all their inventions shall leave them in the lurch.
الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ زِدْنَاهُمْ عَذَابًا فَوْقَ الْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُوا يُفْسِدُونَ	88
যারা কাফের হয়েছে এবং আল্লাহর পথে বাধা সৃষ্টি করেছে, আমি তাদেরকে আযাবের পর আযাব বাড়িয়ে দেব। কারণ, তারা অশান্তি সৃষ্টি করত।
Those who reject Allah and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah - for them will We add Penalty to Penalty; for that they used to spread mischief.
وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ ۖ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ شَهِيدًا عَلَىٰ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ ۚ وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ تِبْيَانًا لِّكُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ	89
সেদিন প্রত্যেক উম্মতের মধ্যে আমি একজন বর্ণনাকারী দাঁড় করাব তাদের বিপক্ষে তাদের মধ্য থেকেই এবং তাদের বিষয়ে আপনাকে সাক্ষী স্বরূপ উপস্থাপন করব। আমি আপনার প্রতি গ্রন্থ নাযিল করেছি যেটি এমন যে তা প্রত্যেক বস্তুর সুস্পষ্ট বর্ণনা, হেদায়েত, রহমত এবং মুসলমানদের জন্যে সুসংবাদ।
One day We shall raise from all Peoples a witness against them, from amongst themselves: and We shall bring thee as a witness against these (thy people): and We have sent down to thee the Book explaining all things, a Guide, a Mercy, and Glad Tidings to Muslims.
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ ۚ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ	90
আল্লাহ ন্যায়পরায়ণতা, সদাচরণ এবং আত্নীয়-স্বজনকে দান করার আদেশ দেন এবং তিনি অশ্লীলতা, অসঙ্গত কাজ এবং অবাধ্যতা করতে বারণ করেন। তিনি তোমাদের উপদেশ দেন যাতে তোমরা স্মরণ রাখ।
Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and liberality to kith and kin, and He forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and rebellion: He instructs you, that ye may receive admonition.
وَأَوْفُوا بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ إِذَا عَاهَدتُّمْ وَلَا تَنقُضُوا الْأَيْمَانَ بَعْدَ تَوْكِيدِهَا وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ اللَّهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ	91
আল্লাহর নামে অঙ্গীকার করার পর সে অঙ্গীকার পূর্ণ কর এবং পাকাপাকি কসম করার পর তা ভঙ্গ করো না, অথচ তোমরা আল্লাহকে জামিন করেছ। তোমরা যা কর আল্লাহ তা জানেন।
Fulfil the Covenant of Allah when ye have entered into it, and break not your oaths after ye have confirmed them; indeed ye have made Allah your surety; for Allah knoweth all that ye do.
وَلَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّتِي نَقَضَتْ غَزْلَهَا مِن بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ أَنكَاثًا تَتَّخِذُونَ أَيْمَانَكُمْ دَخَلًا بَيْنَكُمْ أَن تَكُونَ أُمَّةٌ هِيَ أَرْبَىٰ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ ۚ إِنَّمَا يَبْلُوكُمُ اللَّهُ بِهِ ۚ وَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّ لَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ	92
তোমরা ঐ মহিলার মত হয়ো না, যে পরিশ্রমের পর কাটা সূতা টুকরো টুকরো করে ছিড়ে ফেলে, তোমরা নিজেদের কসমসমূহকে পারস্পরিক প্রবঞ্চনার বাহানা রূপে গ্রহণ কর এজন্যে যে, অন্য দল অপেক্ষা এক দল অধিক ক্ষমতাবান হয়ে যায়। এতদ্বারা তো আল্লাহ শুধু তোমাদের পরীক্ষা করেন। আল্লাহ অবশ্যই কিয়ামতের দিন প্রকাশ করে দেবেন, যে বিষয়ে তোমরা কলহ করতে।
And be not like a woman who breaks into untwisted strands the yarn which she has spun, after it has become strong. Nor take your oaths to practise deception between yourselves, lest one party should be more numerous than another: for Allah will test you by this; and on the Day of Judgment He will certainly make clear to you (the truth of) that wherein ye disagree.
وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلَـٰكِن يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَلَتُسْأَلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ	93
আল্লাহ ইচ্ছা করলে তোমাদের সবাইকে এক জাতি করে দিতে পারতেন, কিন্তু তিনি যাকে ইচ্ছা বিপথগামী করেন এবং যাকে ইচ্ছা পথ প্রদর্শন করেন। তোমরা যা কর সে বিষয়ে অবশ্যই জিজ্ঞাসিত হবে।
If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people: But He leaves straying whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases: but ye shall certainly be called to account for all your actions.
وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوا أَيْمَانَكُمْ دَخَلًا بَيْنَكُمْ فَتَزِلَّ قَدَمٌ بَعْدَ ثُبُوتِهَا وَتَذُوقُوا السُّوءَ بِمَا صَدَدتُّمْ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۖ وَلَكُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ	94
তোমরা স্বীয় কসমসমূহকে পারস্পরিক কলহ দ্বন্দ্বের বাহানা করো না। তা হলে দৃঢ়ভাবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হওয়ার পর পা ফসকে যাবে এবং তোমরা শাস্তির স্বাদ আস্বাদন করবে এ কারণে যে, তোমরা আমার পথে বাধা দান করেছ এবং তোমাদের কঠোর শাস্তি হবে।
And take not your oaths, to practise deception between yourselves, with the result that someone's foot may slip after it was firmly planted, and ye may have to taste the evil (consequences) of having hindered (men) from the Path of Allah, and a Mighty Wrath descend on you.
وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّمَا عِندَ اللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ	95
তোমরা আল্লাহর অঙ্গীকারের বিনিময়ে সামান্য মূল্য গ্রহণ করো না। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহর কাছে যা আছে, তা উত্তম তোমাদের জন্যে, যদি তোমরা জ্ঞানী হও।
Nor sell the covenant of Allah for a miserable price: for with Allah is (a prize) far better for you, if ye only knew.
مَا عِندَكُمْ يَنفَدُ ۖ وَمَا عِندَ اللَّهِ بَاقٍ ۗ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ	96
তোমাদের কাছে যা আছে নিঃশেষ হয়ে যাবে এবং আল্লাহর কাছে যা আছে, কখনও তা শেষ হবে না। যারা সবর করে, আমি তাদেরকে প্রাপ্য প্রতিদান দেব তাদের উত্তম কর্মের প্রতিদান স্বরূপ যা তারা করত।
What is with you must vanish: what is with Allah will endure. And We will certainly bestow, on those who patiently persevere, their reward according to the best of their actions.
مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُ حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ	97
যে সৎকর্ম সম্পাদন করে এবং সে ঈমাণদার, পুরুষ হোক কিংবা নারী আমি তাকে পবিত্র জীবন দান করব এবং প্রতিদানে তাদেরকে তাদের উত্তম কাজের কারণে প্রাপ্য পুরষ্কার দেব যা তারা করত।
Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has Faith, verily, to him will We give a new Life, a life that is good and pure and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions.
فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ الْقُرْآنَ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ	98
অতএব, যখন আপনি কোরআন পাঠ করেন তখন বিতাড়িত শয়তান থেকে আল্লাহর আশ্রয় গ্রহণ করুন।
When thou dost read the Qur'an, seek Allah.s protection from Satan the rejected one.
إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَهُ سُلْطَانٌ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ	99
তার আধিপত্য চলে না তাদের উপর যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে এবং আপন পালন কর্তার উপর ভরসা রাখে।
No authority has he over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord.
إِنَّمَا سُلْطَانُهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَتَوَلَّوْنَهُ وَالَّذِينَ هُم بِهِ مُشْرِكُونَ	100
তার আধিপত্য তো তাদের উপরই চলে, যারা তাকে বন্ধু মনে করে এবং যারা তাকে অংশীদার মানে।
His authority is over those only, who take him as patron and who join partners with Allah.
وَإِذَا بَدَّلْنَا آيَةً مَّكَانَ آيَةٍ ۙ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُفْتَرٍ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ	101
এবং যখন আমি এক আয়াতের স্থলে অন্য আয়াত উপস্থিত করি এবং আল্লাহ যা অবতীর্ণ করেন তিনিই সে সম্পর্কে ভাল জানেন; তখন তারা বলেঃ আপনি তো মনগড়া উক্তি করেন; বরং তাদের অধিকাংশ লোকই জানে না।
When We substitute one revelation for another,- and Allah knows best what He reveals (in stages),- they say, "Thou art but a forger": but most of them understand not.
قُلْ نَزَّلَهُ رُوحُ الْقُدُسِ مِن رَّبِّكَ بِالْحَقِّ لِيُثَبِّتَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَهُدًى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ	102
বলুন, একে পবিত্র ফেরেশতা পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে নিশ্চিত সত্যসহ নাযিল করেছেন, যাতে মুমিনদেরকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেন এবং এটা মুসলমানদের জন্যে পথ নির্দেশ ও সু-সংবাদ স্বরূপ।
Say, the Holy Spirit has brought the revelation from thy Lord in Truth, in order to strengthen those who believe, and as a Guide and Glad Tidings to Muslims.
وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُ بَشَرٌ ۗ لِّسَانُ الَّذِي يُلْحِدُونَ إِلَيْهِ أَعْجَمِيٌّ وَهَـٰذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِيٌّ مُّبِينٌ	103
আমি তো ভালভাবেই জানি যে, তারা বলেঃ তাকে জনৈক ব্যক্তি শিক্ষা দেয়। যার দিকে তারা ইঙ্গিত করে, তার ভাষা তো আরবী নয় এবং এ কোরআন পরিষ্কার আরবী ভাষায়।
We know indeed that they say, "It is a man that teaches him." The tongue of him they wickedly point to is notably foreign, while this is Arabic, pure and clear.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ لَا يَهْدِيهِمُ اللَّهُ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ	104
যারা আল্লাহর কথায় বিশ্বাস করে না, তাদেরকে আল্লাহ পথ প্রদর্শন করেন না এবং তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি।
Those who believe not in the Signs of Allah,- Allah will not guide them, and theirs will be a grievous Penalty.
إِنَّمَا يَفْتَرِي الْكَذِبَ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ ۖ وَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْكَاذِبُونَ	105
মিথ্যা কেবল তারা রচনা করে, যারা আল্লাহর নিদর্শনে বিশ্বাস করে না এবং তারাই মিথ্যাবাদী।
It is those who believe not in the Signs of Allah, that forge falsehood: it is they who lie!
مَن كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ مِن بَعْدِ إِيمَانِهِ إِلَّا مَنْ أُكْرِهَ وَقَلْبُهُ مُطْمَئِنٌّ بِالْإِيمَانِ وَلَـٰكِن مَّن شَرَحَ بِالْكُفْرِ صَدْرًا فَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ	106
যার উপর জবরদস্তি করা হয় এবং তার অন্তর বিশ্বাসে অটল থাকে সে ব্যতীত যে কেউ বিশ্বাসী হওয়ার পর আল্লাহতে অবিশ্বাসী হয় এবং কুফরীর জন্য মন উম্মুক্ত করে দেয় তাদের উপর আপতিত হবে আল্লাহর গযব এবং তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে শাস্তি।
Any one who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief,- except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty.
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ اسْتَحَبُّوا الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الْآخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ	107
এটা এ জন্যে যে, তারা পার্থিব জীবনকে পরকালের চাইতে প্রিয় মনে করেছে এবং আল্লাহ অবিশ্বাসীদেরকে পথ প্রদর্শন করেন না।
This because they love the life of this world better than the Hereafter: and Allah will not guide those who reject Faith.
أُولَـٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ طَبَعَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ ۖ وَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الْغَافِلُونَ	108
এরাই তারা, আল্লাহ তা'য়ালা এদেরই অন্তর, কর্ণ ও চক্ষুর উপর মোহর মেরে দিয়েছেন এবং এরাই কান্ড জ্ঞানহীন।
Those are they whose hearts, ears, and eyes Allah has sealed up, and they take no heed.
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ	109
বলাবাহুল্য পরকালে এরাই ক্ষতি গ্রস্ত হবে।
Without doubt, in the Hereafter they will perish.
ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا مِن بَعْدِ مَا فُتِنُوا ثُمَّ جَاهَدُوا وَصَبَرُوا إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِن بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ	110
যারা দুঃখ-কষ্ট ভোগের পর দেশত্যাগী হয়েছে অতঃপর জেহাদ করেছে, নিশ্চয় আপনার পালনকর্তা এসব বিষয়ের পরে অবশ্যই ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
But verily thy Lord,- to those who leave their homes after trials and persecutions,- and who thereafter strive and fight for the faith and patiently persevere,- Thy Lord, after all this is oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
يَوْمَ تَأْتِي كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تُجَادِلُ عَن نَّفْسِهَا وَتُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ	111
যেদিন প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি আত্ন-সমর্থনে সওয়াল জওয়াব করতে করতে আসবে এবং প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি তাদের কৃতকর্মের পূর্ণ ফল পাবে এবং তাদের উপর জুলুম করা হবে না।
One Day every soul will come up struggling for itself, and every soul will be recompensed (fully) for all its actions, and none will be unjustly dealt with.
وَضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا قَرْيَةً كَانَتْ آمِنَةً مُّطْمَئِنَّةً يَأْتِيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَدًا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِأَنْعُمِ اللَّهِ فَأَذَاقَهَا اللَّهُ لِبَاسَ الْجُوعِ وَالْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَصْنَعُونَ	112
আল্লাহ দৃষ্টান্ত বর্ণনা করেছেন একটি জনপদের, যা ছিল নিরাপদ ও নিশ্চিন্ত, তথায় প্রত্যেক জায়গা থেকে আসত প্রচুর জীবনোপকরণ। অতঃপর তারা আল্লাহর নেয়ামতের প্রতি অকৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করল। তখন আল্লাহ তাদেরকে তাদের কৃতকর্মের কারণে স্বাদ আস্বাদন করালেন, ক্ষুধা ও ভীতির।
Allah sets forth a Parable: a city enjoying security and quiet, abundantly supplied with sustenance from every place: Yet was it ungrateful for the favours of Allah. so Allah made it taste of hunger and terror (in extremes) (closing in on it) like a garment (from every side), because of the (evil) which (its people) wrought.
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ	113
তাদের কাছে তাদের মধ্য থেকেই একজন রাসূল আগমন করেছিলেন। অনন্তর ওরা তাঁর প্রতি মিথ্যারোপ করল। তখন আযাব এসে তাদরকে পাকড়াও করল এবং নিশ্চিতই ওরা ছিল পাপাচারী।
And there came to them an Messenger from among themselves, but they falsely rejected him; so the Wrath seized them even in the midst of their iniquities.
فَكُلُوا مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ حَلَالًا طَيِّبًا وَاشْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ	114
অতএব, আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে যেসব হালাল ও পবিত্র বস্তু দিয়েছেন, তা তোমরা আহার কর এবং আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহের জন্যে কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ কর যদি তোমরা তাঁরই এবাদতকারী হয়ে থাক।
So eat of the sustenance which Allah has provided for you, lawful and good; and be grateful for the favours of Allah, if it is He Whom ye serve.
إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَةَ وَالدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ الْخِنزِيرِ وَمَا أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ بِهِ ۖ فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ	115
অবশ্যই আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্যে হারাম করেছেন রক্ত, শুকরের মাংস এবং যা জবাই কালে আল্লাহ ছাড়া অন্যের নাম উচ্চারণ করা হয়েছে। অতঃপর কেউ সীমালঙ্ঘন কারী না হয়ে নিরুপায় হয়ে পড়লে তবে, আল্লাহ ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।
He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
وَلَا تَقُولُوا لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُكُمُ الْكَذِبَ هَـٰذَا حَلَالٌ وَهَـٰذَا حَرَامٌ لِّتَفْتَرُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ	116
তোমাদের মুখ থেকে সাধারনতঃ যেসব মিথ্যা বের হয়ে আসে তেমনি করে তোমরা আল্লাহর বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্যা অপবাদ আরোপ করে বল না যে, এটা হালাল এবং ওটা হারাম। নিশ্চয় যারা আল্লাহর বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্যা আরোপ করে, তাদের মঙ্গল হবে না।
But say not - for any false thing that your tongues may put forth,- "This is lawful, and this is forbidden," so as to ascribe false things to Allah. For those who ascribe false things to Allah, will never prosper.
مَتَاعٌ قَلِيلٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ	117
যৎসামান্য সুখ-সম্ভোগ ভোগ করে নিক। তাদের জন্যে যন্ত্রনাদায়ক শাস্তি রয়েছে।
(In such falsehood) is but a paltry profit; but they will have a most grievous Penalty.
وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ هَادُوا حَرَّمْنَا مَا قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ	118
ইহুদীদের জন্যে আমি তো কেবল তাই হারাম করেছিলাম যা ইতিপূর্বে আপনার নিকট উল্লেখ করেছি। আমি তাদের প্রতি কোন জুলুম করিনি, কিন্তু তারাই নিজেদের উপর জুলুম করত।
To the Jews We prohibited such things as We have mentioned to thee before: We did them no wrong, but they were used to doing wrong to themselves.
ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا السُّوءَ بِجَهَالَةٍ ثُمَّ تَابُوا مِن بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِن بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ	119
অনন্তর যারা অজ্ঞতাবশতঃ মন্দ কাজ করে, অতঃপর তওবা করে এবং নিজেকে সংশোধন করে নেয়, আপনার পালনকর্তা এসবের পরে তাদের জন্যে অবশ্যই ক্ষমাশীল, দয়ালু।
But verily thy Lord,- to those who do wrong in ignorance, but who thereafter repent and make amends,- thy Lord, after all this, is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةً قَانِتًا لِّلَّهِ حَنِيفًا وَلَمْ يَكُ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ	120
নিশ্চয় ইব্রাহীম ছিলেন এক সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতীক, সবকিছু থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে এক আল্লাহরই অনুগত এবং তিনি শেরককারীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিলেন না।
Abraham was indeed a model, devoutly obedient to Allah, (and) true in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah.
شَاكِرًا لِّأَنْعُمِهِ ۚ اجْتَبَاهُ وَهَدَاهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ	121
তিনি তাঁর অনুগ্রহের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশকারী ছিলেন। আল্লাহ তাঁকে মনোনীত করেছিলেন এবং সরল পথে পরিচালিত করেছিলেন।
He showed his gratitude for the favours of Allah, who chose him, and guided him to a Straight Way.
وَآتَيْنَاهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً ۖ وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ	122
আমি তাঁকে দুনিয়াতে দান করেছি কল্যাণ এবং তিনি পরকালেও সৎকর্মশীলদের অন্তর্ভূক্ত।
And We gave him Good in this world, and he will be, in the Hereafter, in the ranks of the Righteous.
ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ أَنِ اتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ	123
অতঃপর আপনার প্রতি প্রত্যাদেশ প্রেরণ করেছি যে, ইব্রাহীমের দ্বীন অনুসরণ করুন, যিনি একনিষ্ঠ ছিলেন এবং শিরককারীদের অন্তর্ভূক্ত ছিলেন না।
So We have taught thee the inspired (Message), "Follow the ways of Abraham the True in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah."
إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ السَّبْتُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ ۚ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ	124
শনিবার দিন পালন যে, নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছিল, তা তাদের জন্যেই যারা এতে মতবিরোধ করেছিল। আপনার পালনকর্তা কিয়ামতের দিন তাদের মধ্যে ফয়সালা করবেন যে বিষয়ে তারা মতবিরোধ করত।
The Sabbath was only made (strict) for those who disagreed (as to its observance); But Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment, as to their differences.
ادْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَادِلْهُم بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ ۖ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ	125
আপন পালনকর্তার পথের প্রতি আহবান করুন জ্ঞানের কথা বুঝিয়ে ও উপদেশ শুনিয়ে উত্তমরূপে এবং তাদের সাথে বিতর্ক করুন পছন্দ যুক্ত পন্থায়। নিশ্চয় আপনার পালনকর্তাই ঐ ব্যক্তি সম্পর্কে বিশেষ ভাবে জ্ঞাত রয়েছেন, যে তাঁর পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত হয়ে পড়েছে এবং তিনিই ভাল জানেন তাদেরকে, যারা সঠিক পথে আছে।
Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance.
وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُوا بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبْتُم بِهِ ۖ وَلَئِن صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لِّلصَّابِرِينَ	126
আর যদি তোমরা প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ কর, তবে ঐ পরিমাণ প্রতিশোধ গ্রহণ করবে, যে পরিমাণ তোমাদেরকে কষ্ট দেয়া হয়। যদি সবর কর, তবে তা সবরকারীদের জন্যে উত্তম।
And if ye do catch them out, catch them out no worse than they catch you out: But if ye show patience, that is indeed the best (course) for those who are patient.
وَاصْبِرْ وَمَا صَبْرُكَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ ۚ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُ فِي ضَيْقٍ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ	127
আপনি সবর করবেন। আপনার সবর আল্লাহর জন্য ব্যতীত নয়, তাদের জন্যে দুঃখ করবেন না এবং তাদের চক্রান্তের কারণে মন ছোট করবেন না।
And do thou be patient, for thy patience is but from Allah. nor grieve over them: and distress not thyself because of their plots.
إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوا وَّالَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ	128
নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ তাদের সঙ্গে আছেন, যারা পরহেযগার এবং যারা সৎকর্ম করে।
For Allah is with those who restrain themselves, and those who do good.
